University of Mount Saint Vincent — Attraction in New York

THIS SCHOOL IS A BUSINESS NOT A COLLEGE! The only thing that will keep you together is the honest friends you make, faith, and if you're blessed, your family. This school is known for "nursing" ONE OF THE MOST DISORGANIZED, UNPROFESSIONAL, UNINFLUENTIAL program you will put your child in. Please do not put your child into this school. They will bribe you into the beauty of the campus and the amount of help you will be getting financially, which will be taken away from you by sophomore year. They guarantee that with their education, your child will pass the nclex since they are one the top colleges that have an 80% rate passing rate. LIES ! it is currently at 60% if not lower. The graduate rate is 56%. The more you know the better. They don't hire professionals with care, they care for their wallets and it shows each day they teach. Not all but a majority. Kudos to those professors that give a care and are willing to work with you. They will fail you with no hesitation and of course will judge you on your first test and say nursing "isn't for you, change your major." No motivation at all from those you're optimistically trying...

The Campus is beautiful. The dorming experience is okay. I'm currently in the nursing program. Taking my prerequisites like anatomy were great. The teacher is had for anatomy, Anthony Esposito is one of the best professors I've ever had. Now that I'm in the nursing program it's a whole other story. I won't say all of the teachers are bad but alot of them really don't care. I have Susan Tighe for Med-surge and she is one of the worst professors I've ever had. She is very unhelpful and makes no effort to help us pass other than to say "study ever day, weeks before tests to have a chance to pass. The majority of the class failed her first exam but no curve, no going over. Not to mention she makes her own tests and makes them much more difficult than the material we learn in class or even the practice questions we have available to us. I graduated from this institute’s nursing program in 2021. This is the WORST PROGRAM. If you value your mental health or genuinely want a good education DO NOT COME HERE! You are not valued or taught. The expectation is to already know then material and come to class with questions. They overload you with book work instead of actually teaching. Please go somewhere else. This is a money pit. As a student there, I was never taught how to be a nurse or think like one. We were just overloaded with information that changed from teacher to teacher. The whole program needs to be looked at by the accreditation board.
