I wanted to purchase two coloring books. I went up and was told there was a $5 minimum so I walked around a bit before I found something I wanted. I was then charged $5.40 on my card and the cashier said it was declined which wasn’t true because it took the money out of my card. After some back and forth she called the manager and tried explaining the situation to him he clearly wasn’t understanding her either. There was a clear language barrier between the cashier and I as well as with the manager. He then told me that I wasn’t charged even though I showed him proof on my phone that I was. He said it would clear in a few days. So I was charged again $1.04 and had to pay the remainder in cash (I had the money but thought it was ridiculous I was being overcharged). At that point I was getting anxious because of the line behind me and just wanted to get out. They had to open another register to help clear the line. There was a kind man behind me who gave the cashier the $5 to pay for my items before he left. I had an awful experience having to wait for the manager then being told that despite my proof that I wasn’t charged (something was “wrong” with their scanner so a receipt didn’t print out the first time I was charged). My advice? Bring cash. Otherwise you risk being scammed out of your money. Don’t bother going back and forth with them either. I’d recommend going to the other $0.99 store nearby, it’s a little smaller but they have great service and I was charged correctly for my...

However, I noticed there were quite a few expired food items on the shelves, still being sold. Unfortunately, the aisles are often hard to get by because the store is so crammed with new shipment of boxes where workers are constantly preparing to put on the shelves. For the most part I enjoy going to this particular store because I usually find what I need at...
