The purpose of this review is not to hate or harm this place and the people in charge of taking care of it in any way, shape, or form. That being said, I hope you take this review as an informative review. Atmosphere: Getting to this island was quite a journey. Perfect for a great walk. The island itself was nice and spacious, with many soccer fields to use, not only for soccer but for other sports as well. However, I don't think there are enough parking spots. So, make sure you get there early if you go there by car. I have seen how crowded it can get when there is a concert. I did not find a kiosk or something similar where I can use at least a bottle of water. So, if you plan to stay there for most of the day, make sure you take something to eat or drink with you. Most importantly, make sure not to leave any garbage behind. I saw garbage lying around, which is just sad to see soda cans, beer cans, etc. As grown-ups, you should have the responsibility to put garbage in its place and set an example for the younger generations. Accessibility: You can choose between walking, biking, and driving. If you're in Astoria, you can drive, bike, or walk through the Tri-Borough bridge. There are actually thin slides on the stairs of the bridge to make it easy for bikers to move their bikes. Be really cautious when you get the upper point of the bridge, especially with children, because there is no fence. If you are in East Harlem, you can walk and bike through the Ward's Island bridge that is located between 102st and 105st.

Great Park. Tons of space, grass, running/biking trails, turf for games. Barbecue areas. Whatever it is you are into. I have been coming here with my dog, to have her chase the balls while all the doggy runs are closed. We come in the evening and there is always an empty field of plush grass for her to pounce around! Big thumbs up for this place. Plus, easy access from Manhattan and Queens over the RFK Bridge. But. You gotta pay a Toll. Also a pedestrian bridge from East Harlem at 102nd Street.

Wards Island Park is part of Randall's Island. While we have attended many of my son's sporting events at Randall's Island, until today, we have never been to the Wards Island Park area within this location. It has a very similar set-up to fields 7 & 8 on the main part of Randall's Island but with a little more of a secluded feel. We played on field 80 at Wards, the views of Manhattan were amazing and his team won!

I loove it, so nice just to seat down, better go on the bus its 6 dollars in private car. Unless u a BBQing u you get to see the boats, jet ski the people smell the barbecue you can let go of the kids running they have a lot of Green Space to run being safe, theres a field for them to go play soccer there's also a cafeteria, everything is green every area its different depending on where you want to be there's the BBQ area with the Ready Set BBQ is there you just have to clean it and use it and this was with the spaces where they allow you to make your own barbecue with your own barbecue stuff plus the playground there's a regular playground I didn't notice that there was like a water sprinkler though so I'm not sure it's so nice it's so pleasant to be there a bunch of birds bunch of...

My son's soccer team practices here as do many other soccer, baseball and lacrosse teams, so it's a busy place. It's also a great place to relax on a weekend if you want to grill or ride bikes. It's right on the water so the ambience is nice. I've taken public transportation to get there (not my favorite way to get there), but it's also accessible by car and there's parking available. I've walked there too over the 103rd bridge- it's a good workout if you're trying to make 10,000 steps! My only complaint is that the bathrooms were locked during peak practice hours. I walked to 2 different locations and both were locked. Maybe it's just due to the pandemic but since all the fields were in use I can't imagine why the bathroom facilities would be locked. Anyway, it's a great place to visit if...
