I went in for my post op lipo lymphatic massage. I went in about 5 days post op so basically freshly out of surgery and decided to give this place a try since they had good reviews. My lymphatic massage therapist Taylor, was extremely rude. When you’re fresh out of surgery everything hurts, you’re vulnerable and scared. She made a lot of unnecessary condescending comments. She proceeds to say your incisions are close now there’s nothing we can do, I told her, can you push it through the lymphatic? She says no I can’t. I told her than what’s the point of a lymphatic massage?! She goes on and says well your body will get rid of it on its own hopefully in two weeks if not we’re going to refer you to a specialist to drain your retained fluid surgically. I’m like what? I was so confused, because based on my research that’s not how it goes. Then goes on to say why did you do the surgery? You wanted to fit into society’s beauty standards? You think you’re beautiful now? I was in shock at what she was telling me. I’m glad I was still not all there yet, because of the surgery and medication, or else I would have gone off on her, but I felt so vulnerable and in pain to deal with that none sense. Why would she say this it’s so unprofessional especially because you work at a place where girls come after their surgeries. And you make them feel worse and uncomfortable?! Like seriously? Do better. And after the massage session was over she just left me. She didn’t help me dress or anything. If you had surgery especially for the first couple of days you need help dressing yourself it’s almost impossible to do it on your own. I ended up going elsewhere and I’m glad I did because this is not the...
Read moreI'm not sure how to review this place but I hope this review helps others. I recently booked a session for a post op lymphatic drainage massage. Booking was easy, my session was on time and my massage therapist was welcoming. The massage itself was a hard massage. It wasn't comfy. Being that I'm not a fan of massage in the first place (and was only doing this to speed up recovery), I figured that this massage technique was simply a hard massage (as some techniques are). I decided to go elsewhere for a 2nd massage - we have a family friend is a PT with a speciality in lymphatic drainage. My 2nd experience was completely different. Since the two experiences were so different, I read about lymphatic drainage massage. I'm obviously not an expert in this field, but what I read indicates that lymphatic drainage massage should be soft, not hard. It causes me to question if this spa understands the technique correctly. I don't know the answer, but I'd definitely urge others to do their research...
