We booked the Marina Park Center for our 50th Wedding Anniversary Lunch and could not be more pleased with the space, the event planning and attentive staff. It was like being members of a private yacht club! The staff was very experienced with event planning and were answering my questions even before I asked them. Our buffet lunch was catered by the Lighthouse Cafe next door (also highly recommended!) We had the whole upper floor with views to the harbor and the snowcapped mountains beyond. Smaller groups gathered in the lounge and on the balcony and the little ones were off to the playground when they needed a run. We had beautiful weather but we think this space would have been pleasant on a rainy day: it is so light and spacious. We were met even before our reserved time by Zach and Jared to help us unload and we were all set up well ahead of the caterers. Jared was back up to help us when the time came to start our slide show. We just plugged our laptop into their system and we were ready to go. The staff had even let us come in the week before for a trial run on the slide show, so we were sure everything would work. We rented the east parking lot. Directions were well marked and the handicapped access was easy. It was a wonderful party in a beautiful space and we could not have found a better spot for our multigenerational group of older folks, toddlers and...
Read moreNice safe place. Parking at the beach particularly on a hot summer day suggests being patient and courteous. Also be careful. Watch the crosswalks, and for bicyclists. Maybe because it's the beach or people are like that everywhere and I'm getting old, but, they get loopy distracted and maybe stumble out of bars so if you're not driving real slow paying perfect attention you might kill someone ( sorry speech over). There's food there and restrooms. Little kids love the tiny playground. I don't know if it gets too crowded, the parking lot doesn't hold that many people. Little beach at the park/walk across the street to big open ocean beach. Check for all swimming rules for either side of the peninsula. Check for local fishing options. Don't see allot of fishing at the park. Serious fish eating warnings local, but, you could catch and release, basicaly check restrictions, be licensed. There's great fishing further out in the ocean up and down the coast and at the islands. There's plenty to do. No bad days at/on...
