I recently visited Penn Station and had an extremely disappointing experience with one of their servers. I ordered a footlong sandwich with specific toppings, including lettuce, tomatoes, onions, American cheese, provolone cheese, and, of course, mushrooms. However, to my dismay, the server forgot to add the mushrooms to my sandwich.
What made matters worse was the server's response when I pointed out the mistake. I politely mentioned that I had requested mushrooms on my sandwich, but she vehemently denied that I had ever mentioned it. I reiterated my request three times, but she continued to insist that I had not asked for mushrooms. This lack of accountability and refusal to acknowledge their mistake was highly unprofessional and frustrating.
As a customer, I expect my order to be prepared accurately, especially when I clearly communicate my preferences. It is disappointing when a server fails to pay attention to such details and then tries to shift the blame onto the customer. This incident not only left me dissatisfied with my meal but also with the overall customer service at Penn Station.
Attention to detail is crucial in the food service industry, and it is disheartening when such a simple request is overlooked. The server's denial of my request only added to my frustration and left me questioning the competence and professionalism of the staff at Penn Station.
In conclusion, my experience at Penn Station was marred by the server's failure to include mushrooms on my footlong sandwich, despite my clear instructions. The subsequent denial of my request and lack of accountability only exacerbated the situation. I hope that Penn Station takes this feedback seriously and works towards improving their customer service and attention to detail in the future,...
Read moreVery dark and boring atmosphere. Ordered food and waited about 15 minutes and an employee told me they ran out of Nutri- Grain bread. Waited about another 15 minutes and they told me they were making my food. As I observed the sandwich being prepared the employee was slowly putting on small thin slices of onion on it. To be exact a total of 3 very small and very thin pieces of onion. I asked for more and he just stared at me. Then the same happened with the banana peppers. Again I requested more telling the employee to please add more and asking him to look at the picture hanging on the wall to see how it was supposed to look like. At that point another employee that was cooking the ingredients for sandwiches on the grill came over and looked at my sandwich and asked what was wrong with it. I tried explaining but his only answer was that’s the way we make it. I have enjoyed other similar sandwiches and multiple Penn Stations and this was not even close. So after the grill guy told me that’s the way they make it I let them know I no longer wanted it if that’s what they were trying to serve me. Everyone just stared at me obviously not knowing what to do! It turns out that nobody knew how to process a return of payment. I asked for a manager and he told me he was but has only worked there for a couple of days! I believe all employees there were brand new. Shame on whoever owns this business for putting new employees in this situation without training and management backup. I finally told the young man I didn’t want to eat what they had prepared and if he couldn’t refund my card that I would accept cash. Again I have visited many Penn Stations and this one was completely unacceptable and no way near...
Read moreOrdered a cheese steak with mushrooms and mayo. Sandwich came with what appeared to be no steak. Closer inspection revealed two small clumps of steak under the cheese. The girl at the counter was apparently in a terrible mood and insisted that there was meat all over the sandwich. The manager was at least friendly to my face about it and offered to redo the sandwich. However, I don’t take chances with food handlers in general and definitely not with hateful ones. I let them keep the money and threw the sandwich away. After leaving, my neighbor, who was still in the store waiting on his order called to let me know both the manager and the pissed off girl immediately continued talking trash about me being unreasonable over their garbage standards and lousy attitudes. The whole experience was offensive enough for my neighbor to leave a bad yelp review and for me to go thru the agony of posting this review. I’m the kinda guy who won’t bother using coupons because it’s too much work. I won’t be returning to Penn Station and would caution others from visiting there until the company starts hiring employees with standards and basic...
