While at this Goodwill today I tried on several clothes in the dressing room. One dress I tried on had a design that required that it go over my head. When I pulled it on the price ticket, which was attached to the dress's label, (a bad place) pulled off. The ticket was white and the dress was on sale. When I left the dressing room I IMMEDIATELY went to the dressing room employee, whom I had previously spoken to, and produced the white ticket. I told her what happened. At her request I went back in the dressing room and obtained the clear plastic ticket attachment as further evidence that the ticket had pulled off. In addition, I showed her a similar dress I was purchasing that also had a white ticket attached. She took all of the above in the backroom to a manager. The employee returned and stated that because the white tickets were sales tickets on this day, and basically that people try to change tickets to steal, that her manager did not believe me about the tag pulling off. (In other words I was being called a thief!) The employee then stated she vouched for me, telling her manager she could tell that I was not lying. She said because of this her manager was honoring the discount. When I got up to the check out line with my 5 items, 3 at normal price, and the two dresses on sale, I noticed that the WHITE tag I had given the employee had been REPLACED with a green FULL PRICE TAG on the dress I had shown the employee! I took the dress back to the dressing room employee and she returned to her manager. After a while she came back out to me and stated she had misunderstood. Because it was policy not to accept pulled tags her manager was going to charge me FULL price for the dress, about a $4 difference. Also, the dress would not go on sale for at least 4 weeks, if it was even still in the store. I told her "Just keep the dress." I did not appreciate being treated as a liar! I told about the dress in good faith! So bottom line: I did the RIGHT thing and this store treated me with disrespect and as a criminal. To the people in charge of this store I offer some advice: Policy is one thing BUT common sense is another. Have the intelligence to know the difference! If a customers comes to you, to bring something to your attention, they are not trying to steal! In the past I have spent a great deal of money in your store. You just lost a loyal...
Read moreTerrible customer service for donations. We arrived at 9:40 (not realizing that they opened at 10) and and employee came out and told us to come back at 10 because they weren’t open. So as instructed we left. Came back at 10:05. Started taking boxes out of the truck. An employee (katherine) who didn’t know how to speak to people came out with her hands up and says “you need to stop. You left on your own reconnaissance and you can’t leave stuff.” So came at us very rude and didn’t actually make her point. I asked her what she was trying to say because she kept saying you left and we weren’t open. I reminded her that we were told to leave and that she wasn’t making a point so I wasn’t sure what she is trying to say. I told her that we weren’t leaving the stuff we were waiting in line. She kept repeating herself. My brother finally asked “are you trying to tell us that you are full?” She said “yes, that’s what I said”. At no point in this did she say that and coming out with her hands up “okay, you need to stop”. We at not your children and it’s miraculous, if you tell people what you mean they will listen, as opposed to dancing around the point I don’t understand how is leaving had anything to do with it. Maybe it’s a lack of reasoning skills. I’m not certain. But they could definitely use some organization and some classes on how to talk talk to people. “Hey sorry, we don’t have room anymore.” Two seconds and right to the point. This is the fifth time we have donated to this center in the past 6 months and while this is the first time we haven’t been able to leave items it’s always some sort of run around. Unless this is the only center near you, I’d pass. It’s just such a pain...
