November 19th 2024,
We had an awful experience at this post office while trying to get a passport for our newborn. Our appointment was scheduled for 10:15 AM, but the passport clerk, Maladie, didn’t come out until 10:45 AM. By that time, there were three other people waiting for passport services besides us. When she finally appeared, she completely ignored us and started assisting others, even though we had the earliest scheduled appointment.
When we reminded her of our 10:15 appointment, she reluctantly helped us but was extremely cold, avoided eye contact, and acted passive-aggressively throughout the process. We explained that our newborn was sick and fussy, and we wanted to complete the process as quickly as possible, but she showed no empathy or consideration for our situation.
Maladie claimed we were missing copies of the birth certificate for our baby and made us leave to get copies down the street. While we were gone, she facilitated and worked on other people’s paperwork instead of preparing or assisting with ours. Once we returned, she made another issue out of our payment, stating that the check we brought was for the wrong amount. She didn’t tell us that the post office offers money orders, which caused us to leave again to get one from the bank. Only after we returned did another employee, Kiwi, inform us about the money order option at the post office, which could have saved us unnecessary trips and frustration.
On top of all that, Maladie neglected to thoroughly check our paperwork. Later, when Kiwi rechecked it, we learned that there were additional copies missing, such as copies of the back of our licenses. This carelessness and lack of attention to detail further delayed the process.
We believe Maladie may have been intentionally delaying our passport paperwork by making multiple mistakes and being unhelpful. Additionally, when we complained to the postmaster, Jessica, it became evident that Jessica and Maladie are likely friends, as they appeared friendly and dismissive of our concerns. Jessica did not seem to take our complaint seriously, despite us explaining that we had a sick newborn and had already experienced significant delays due to Maladie’s actions.
Eventually, Kiwi stepped in and resolved everything efficiently, but the damage had already been done. This experience was stressful, unprofessional, and a complete waste of our time.
We will not be returning to this post office and are willing to drive further to avoid being treated like this again. Management needs to address the lack of professionalism, empathy, and care displayed by their staff, particularly Maladie. This level of service is...
Read moreI am going to air a grievance against the Corona USPS today as a business owner and a customer. I have requested for over a year and a half for them to put a postal key rather than a card in my box when I receive sporadically a package. I could count on my fingers within that time frame how many times this had happen even with a note attach to my box. This particular branch closes at 4:30 during the weekdays and 1 on Saturdays. Do you know to this day they still give me a yellow card even after I have spoken to a supervisor on the phone, email them and spoke with multiply supervisor in person. One supervisor insisted that he can't control or tell his staff what to do because they are union. On two separate occasions by a supervisor and staff; suggested I should buy a bigger box (buy something bigger because you might get a package?), that I should send my mail to my home address (privacy?), and that the post office don't have the capacity to hold mail outside of the mailbox (they have general mail for the homeless?), and that I have paid for re-occurring every three months a mailbox (consistent income for USPS?). One person even told me it’s a privilege while empty boxes with keys hang on the wall. Even during this pandemic last year when they require a mask inside there was no concern for the safety and welfare of the customers. There were no monitors and they still gave you a yellow card in your box and you stood beside someone who was not social distancing and or wearing a mask when the pandemic was in full force. How hard is it to just put a key in the box? According to what I have experience and witness while waiting for 15 plus minutes for someone to even respond when you’re picking up parcel at that singular door to the side of the purchasing desk, I believe the USPS staff think it is funny and placing a key in your mailbox is going beyond the scope...
