Andrews Park has 2 play areas. 1 is for smaller children, and is completely fenced in. Both play areas have updated jungle gyms with multiple slides and tunnels. Many updated benches have been placed all over the park. There are a couple of new picnic tables inside the toddler play area. They have planted new trees around them that will be really nice shade once they grow. There is also a very nice splash pad for kids, but it is currently closed due to Covid19. Norman Parks & Rec. Are reporting that it will remain closed for the remainder of 2020. There are a few pavilions for parties with bbq grills. There is also an indoor Pavillion that has electrical hookups and folding chairs available. There is a large outdoor amphitheater at Andrews that is used for local music events. Eventually, the seating will be covered. There is also a skate park on the far Northeast side of the property that will also be going under renovation in the future. Andrews Park is a fun place to go with family, and is situated very near the police dept. So it...
Read moreIt is a beautiful park. One of the few I've ever seen that actually is set up for families with space for all. A small park for lil one's & a large one for big kids. Space to make a pic-nic as well as space to have parties w cover. 1 thing I would strongly suggest is to plant some 🌳 trees 🌳 for shade around the play areas to allow families to use them during summer month's. Also making sure the scheduled event's actually stay open until the...
Read moreThis park use to be great to visit, since 2019 and a little before then it started to have a homeless population problem pretty bad. During covid it became worse this park unfortunately is filled with homeless people at all times of the day middle of the day they are sleeping at the bathroom. There's drug paraphernalia and drug use going on in this park. What makes this even more sad is that the city of Norman municipal office building is right across from them and the police station. Its just very sad that our tax dollars that pay for the upkeep and for this park in general for it to be overrun by the homeless population. Its not safe to be there for very long like maybe 30 minutes if that...
