This place is a gem of a museum. It is small but packed with history. History concerning the Battle of the Monongahela, sometimes referred to as Braddock's Defeat. I think one could make the case for saying that this battle really began the unraveling of the British Empire and certainly pushed the American Colonists further down the road toward revolution. It was a very public illustration for a watching world that the most powerful army on the planet, at the time, could be easily defeated using guerilla tactics. Here is an insight for you. To get the full effect of this museum read the book "Braddock's Defeat" by David Preston. It is a great read and once read makes the history in this museum really come to life. Enjoy!

Just an amazing History of The early conflicts before our country was formed. This area The original gateway to the west in an early battle perhaps the beginning of the original first world war in 1755 Adjutant and Aide de Camp to General Braddock our first President George Washington and his involvement in this battle which led to the wounding and eventual death of British General Braddock the head and Commander of the North American British Forces at the Time. You’ll find this a wonderful depiction of the early frontier also the involvement of the local native peoples don’t hesitate to visit this local gem 💎

What a great local museum. We learned about the naming of the rivers, general braddock, george washington, and the french and indian wars. Quiet and small. We watched a movie and in all spent about 45 minutes. Well worth a visit.

A very interesting introduction to an almost forgotten, and largely misundert battle that precipated a world war that opened the possibility of the American Revolution. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The young man giving the tour was a little nervous and turns out a student. He did a creditable job and even offered some facts I did not know. The museum is looking to expand and could become quite an experience. The museum is located on the area of the battle. We were told over 450 people who died in that battle are left in the ground where people go by largely unaware of the significant event that had such a profound shaping of the history of the world, eventually giving birth to our country and getting possibly the greatest leader our country has ever known, George Washington, early noteriety for how he led, as a young 23 year old, organizing a retreat under...
