Lived in apts for a little over a year, and would not recommend. A lot of my issues are just general apt living complaints, but some are more specific to the complex and were not/will never be addressed. Would say that price is not worth the overall experience.
Pros: -Valet trash (leave up to 2 bags outside your door, valet will pick up 5 nights out of the week) -Location (can walk to shopping complex across the rd w/harris teeter, restaurants, marshalls, etc, also have nice sidewalks adjacent to complex where you can walk/run) -amenities (nice pool area, work out rooms) -Updated apt was nice (although some minor inconveniences like needing a towel bar to be refastened to the wall due to poor installation, etc.) -Porch on the apt was really nice addition -rooms are decent sizes -never had any problems with appliances or a/c not working (may be due to getting newly updated unit and having new appliances)
Cons: -Litter and dog poop everywhere (apparently there is a clean up crew, but never saw them clean up litter; dog poop picking up is NOT enforced despite the “fine” that they have in place if they witness you not picking up poop.) -Gates open large majority of time (makes parking a nightmare, see below), I feel like they should not advertise as a gated community if gates are not going to be used most of the time. -no parking at night. parking lots are jam packed, and since we have no stickers/tags or designated parking spots, then people from outside the complex can park wherever and it gets crowded very very quickly (as someone who works into the evening sometimes, I found this very aggravating getting off my shift at 11pm and having to walk from several buildings over to get to my apt…) -kids everywhere who are loud, disrespectful, and not supervised. would NOT recommend living near the playground area either, as this is definitely a congregating point for all the kids, esp the ones who are not supervised and ride their bikes/scooters/skateboards without paying attention to traffic, play ball games and hit cars, and generally make noise and scream loudly during the day. I consider my self to be a fairly tolerant person, but the kids in this complex and how management deals with (or doesn’t deal with) issues related to them would be my number one reason not to recommend this facility. -Walls extremely thin, so lots of noise from neighbors AND if your neighbors smoke you will be smelling it 24/7. Anytime I would go out of town for a few days and come back, my apt would smell like someone was smoking in my apartment. Many days that were actually nice I could not leave my window/porch door open or even go out on my porch to enjoy it because my neighbor downstairs would be smoking and it would come up into my apt. -inconsiderate neighbors (see smoking above), had neighbors who would grill outside and get drunk, smoke weed, then sit around and talk VERY loudly and make inappropriate comments to girls walking by. -management is very hands-off in approaching complaints. Anytime a complaint was made by myself (and other friends who live in the complex), the only response would be an apt-wide email reminding everyone to be “good residents” and be quiet, clean, etc. Never received individual responses and actual change. -incongruent management- would rec getting any quotes on prices in writing. Needed to sign on for additional month after my contract ended and was given a quote over the phone, then later when I contacted office about accepting terms for extending lease was told that they had made mistake and it would be able $200 more than original quoted price. They did apologize after I confronted them about the price difference and was passed off to...
Read moreCurrent resident here. Been here since the End of March. Our water bill for one week was $70. Currently waiting for the next and I heard they split the water bill between the units verses how much one unit actually uses. I heard the water bills be over $300. Now when we moved in the apartment looked like someone just moved out. Nothing was done. I had turned in my move in sheet for them to have maintenance work on the things that were wrong and boy o boy. Here it is some time later (with a new and awesome maintenance man) the last of the stuff getting fixed. Is it worth paying over $1700 for this place?? Nope… every review that you see if true. The office doesn’t answer the phone. The bugs as well. I don’t have a huge issue with roaches but I’ve had seen 3 since I’ve been here but the wasp and moths are ridiculous as well. The trash problem is crazy. I also put in a maintenance request on Monday and no one came.. why you ask?? Oh because he just got the request on Thursday (today. I had to go into the office for them to even acknowledge the work order). I thought maintenance had 24hrs to respond to a work order. Now this new guy they hired (Bobby) is awesome! But he can’t maintain this apartment complex by himself. They need to hire him some good help! Will I renew my lease next year??? Nahhhh it’s not worth the money. Cars have also been broken into out here. These older kids don’t listen and destroy the pool then the office will make everyone suffer verses the ones who doing it. Their excuse is “we don’t know who the kids belong to” well ma’am if you knew your residents then you will know. Maybe the office staff should interact with the residents more. Throw a cookout or A “pool party” have the residents come out and meet each other. Then you will solve the problem with not knowing who the kids belong to. Only get two stars for me. One for the maintenance guy Bobby! And the other for the actual apartment. It’s a decent size. Other then that I do not recommend. The only time the office doing anything is when corporate arrives. Only time you see them caring. Other then that DO NOT RECOMMEND. Not worth the money. I’ll rather pay $2k for a place knowing I’m getting my money worth vs this here..
Year Update: so it’s been a long year of ups and down! These past few months have been the best times since I’ve been here. They hired a whole new office team which is GREAT and a new maintenance team which is GREAT! The water bill still sucks. But outside of that it’s good for the price. My huge concern with moving here was the front office would never answer the phone or emails(THEY FIXED THAT ISSUE). Maintenance sucked (THEY FIXED THAT ISSUE). The leasing manager is very understanding and helpful and makes sure she communicates with her residents. I told her the issues I was having with the previous office staff and maintenance and she has reassured me over and over again that things will be taken care of. If things were the same when I moved in 3/2023 I wouldn’t have resigned but since the change and the positive effects we are staying longer. Thank you to corporate for hearing the cries and fixing the issue because i was not loving it at first. Now y’all can fix this playground out here for the kids because it’s not up to standard. I...
Read moreI have lived here for almost 3 months and I would not recommend moving here. My move in experience was horrible. I was handed keys to an apartment that I did not request (carpeted interior/no upgrades). There was no upgrades in the apartment like I requested in person. I had to wait almost an hour to get into my apartment because they had to check on the availability of another apartment.
Once I moved into the apartment, I attempted to do laundry the night after (washer and dryer is OUTDATED). A burning smell was coming from the laundry room so when I walked in, I noticed that the outlet plug to the washer was sparking so I immediately stopped the machine. I called the emergency maintenance line and left a message. No one responded until the next day. It takes 2-4 rounds of running the dryer on the longest and highest temperature in order to get my clothes dry. I spoke to another tenant on the property who has lived here for 6 years to which he has the same issue in his apartment. He also confirmed that the security gate has not been working for several YEARS. My toilet in the master bathroom still wobbles like a rocking chair when I sit on it (this is AFTER the maintenance manager repaired it). The fan in the guest bathroom rattled so loud, it scared me. The maintenance crew just sprayed an entire can of WD40 in it to stop it from rattling.
The ceiling fan light in the living was burnt out so I had to purchase a bulb from Lowe's the day of my move-in to replace it. There were several bulbs blown out in the guest bathroom to which I had to replace. The light under the microwave is burned out an needs to be replaced. The light fixtures in the master bathroom is rusted....
It gets better....the gate has NEVER been closed since I moved in (but the website says Gated Community with Controlled Access). The building next to mine has wires exposed in a box and it just hangs there. When it rains, the wires are EXPOSED. There is no access to the pool, the business center, nor the exercise room. Every apartment has a different rate to which some people are paying more or less depending on what they feel like offering in the front office. Some folks got "the hook up" on their rent where they did not have to pay for months while others are required to pay monthly.
When I walk outside of my apartment, I see trash sitting near my neighbor's door which creates bugs. I have had my trash knocked over due to drunk neighbors. The smell of marijuana reeks throughout the building and into my bathrooms which does not make this place NO WAY NEAR LUXURIOUS. The walls are thin because I can hear my neighbors' conversations in the dining room. Cigarette butts are all over the breezeway and grounds...
I have sent emails in concern for the poor quality of the neighborhood and the price that I am paying to live here, but got no response. At this point, I think I will be moving because this place is NOT worth what they demand you to pay. THREE MONTHS in, and I'm...
