I had a very disappointing and upsetting experience at the Giant Eagle. I went with my mom to send money through Western Union, and the woman working at the customer service desk was extremely rude and unprofessional. From the start, she was asking my mom personal questions that had nothing to do with the transaction and insisted that she would not help us. I couldn’t help but feel that her behavior was colorist — perhaps because I was wearing a hijab and my mom was wearing a scarf.
What made this situation even worse was that when we returned a second time, hoping for a better experience, the same woman was there again and once more refused to help us. This time, she claimed she couldn’t assist my mom simply because she was talking on the phone — which was completely unnecessary and not her place to judge. It also felt like my mom’s limited English was being used against her, which was truly disappointing.
I’ve never experienced this kind of treatment at Giant Eagle before, and I left feeling disrespected and very hurt. No one should be made to feel unwelcome or discriminated against when trying to complete a simple transaction. I sincerely hope that Giant Eagle takes these concerns seriously and trains their staff to treat all customers — regardless of race, religion, language, or appearance — with basic respect...
Read moreFirst make sure you have a Giant Eagle rewards card so you can earn money off of gas at their Get Go locations. Plus it helps in the specials they have. They have a small Starbucks stall inside which is nice. The produce is nice. The people at the meat counter are very helpful. Although I wish they had someone who knew a bit more when it came to the seafood department like their Fairview location. The deli is nice. Their store brand of foods is nice. They do sell a value brand which is ok but mostly as an ingredient and not a main ingredient in recipes. I love how they put doors on the refrigerated sections. I wish more stores would do that. The pharmacy is nice although I haven't used it in a while. If you plan on going to restaurants or need to do do shopping at stores that they sell gift cards for like Home Depot or other such things. Maybe movie planning a trip to the movies I recommend buying gift cards at Giant Eagle and then using the gift cards at the stores. It is just like you would normally be paying but you also earn money off a tank of gas which can get expensive. They don't have all the stores but they do have many online retailers like Amazon and even...
Read moreLike this so-called l, Giant Eagle grocery store. I haven't found the eagle yet, but I will still look occasionally for it. Man, this store has the nicest liquor department I have ever seen (inside another store)... and it's right smack dab in the middle of a grocery store. I must have walked past it half a dozen times before it was shown to me. I don't partake in the devils tasty beverages.. I like the devils lettuce, but that's a different story for another time. Anyway it's a nice store. They got a liquor store, a Starbucks, and a public restaurant. I'm not saying they are all intertwined, but hey, when ur thirsty for a Frappuccino and u gotta grab some taco shells, some Swishers, and a pack of toilet paper, this is the place to go. I think they used to stay open all night, but like my lovelife, those late night shopping hours became victims of the corona. There's not much to say besides. i wish I was a little more confident to strike up a conversation with some of the women that visit coz wow, I have seen my future ex-wife several times shopping for vegetables. Staff is friendly and always helpful. I think I would like to make...
