I am not a big fan of the restaurant ordering system. In my opinion it is not fast, nor efficient. as for the food, the chicken the nuggets that I ordered were not the best, and maybe the worst nuggets I have ever eaten. In my opinion they do not taste like chicken, and they had a very unpleasant and weird after taste. In my last visit I also ordered a "cheese burg" and "gelly boy" both with "everything". The gelly boy was alright, but it is not something that I would get weakly. It had a unique sauce on it, that tasted like sweet bbq sauce. the "cheeseburg" was below average in my opinion. I could barley taste the meat, and the mustard on the sandwich dominated all the other flavors, so I could hardly taste anything other than the mustard. I gave two starts because it is not the worst restaurant that I have been to, but it is below average, I would not eat there weekly. Thank you for reading.
Decide to try this restaurant again after two years. This time I got a gelly boy, a triple cheeseburger, and a chocolate shake. The gelly boy taste exactly like it did two years ago and I am still not a fan. The sauce they use out flavors everything else and I was not able to taste anything else. The cheeseburger was very good. I was not expecting much but it was actually more than decent. The mustard flavor blends in with the burger and cheese. The chocolate shake taste like an average chocolate shake. it was decent but nothing special. Overall, I would go back to eat the cheeseburger again but not...
Read moreIt's a rare thing these days, a true unicorn in the post-Covid fast-food hellscape: a place that actually gives a damn. You know the scene: lukewarm fries, surly teenagers, and an order that's more of a suggestion than a promise. Swenson's, however, just pulled off a minor miracle, reminding me that not all is lost in the culinary wasteland.
I ordered their limited-time pimento burger, a greasy, glorious beacon of American indulgence. Anticipation, naturally, was high. Then, the crushing disappointment – no pimento cheese. A rookie mistake, perhaps, but in this day and age, one I'd sadly come to expect.
But then, Travis. The manager. A man who understands the delicate dance between hunger and satisfaction. This isn't some corporate drone spouting platitudes; this is a man who recognized a wrong and, without hesitation, personally drove a replacement burger to my workplace. Let that sink in. In an era where "customer service" often means navigating an automated phone tree to nowhere, Travis, at Swenson's, embodies a forgotten art. He's a legend in a landscape of mediocrity.
The burger, when it arrived, was everything it promised to be: sloppy, cheesy, and utterly delicious. But beyond the immediate gratification, it was the act itself that truly elevated the experience to five stars. Swenson's, under Travis's watch, isn't just serving burgers; they're serving a masterclass in how to treat a customer. And in this particular hellscape, that's something worth...
Read moreThe Galley boy is tasty. The service was slow and sloppy. Our runner was barely able to hold onto our food and 2 drinks. He spilled out some of our drinks outside our car, before he handed them to me. This happened because he was juggling another person's drink and food. He wanted us to pay before he handed us our lunch; however, that would have caused him to drop everything. He ended up putting another car's food bag on the ground while he handled our payment. My fries were tepid, so I went up to the door to have them exchanged. After knocking 3 separate times, I was handed a replacement bag without any verbal exhange...an apology or an acknowledgement. The 2nd bag was exactly the same, not even warm. I could see that they had bagged fries under a warmer, so they don't cook to order. At that point, I realized it wasn't going to get better. Once I got back to our car, I saw another young server come out and spill someone's entire drink, right outside the door, laughing all the way. I realize this is a burger joint, but there should be some pride in how you conduct yourself and represent your establishment.
I think Swenson's might want to consider training their staff better. Everyone inside looked to be quite young and there didn't seem to be a mgr on hand. I felt like I was at a 3 ring circus full of 🤡 🤡 🤡
I plan on sticking with the Avon location...
