We ordered an expensive Huntington House custom sofa in March 2021 for our new home from Baer Furniture in NPB. Initially it was promised in 8-10 weeks. Shortly after we purchase it we were told it would be six months. This was prior to the supply chain issues. A September delivery date ultimately became the week of Thanksgiving. During the entire 8 month waiting period we sat on lawn chairs watching TV and couldn’t entertain.
The day the sofa was delivered I was initially thrilled to finally get our long awaited sofa. The design, dimensions and fabric color were perfect for our open living room space. When they unwrapped however I immediately saw a small but VERY visible rip in the side of the arm. Needless to say I was devastated after waiting 8 months for the sofa.
Over the past 10 years we have furnished our condo and new house through Baer furniture. Our initial purchase included a King bedroom set. A drawer of one of the bedroom dressers was broken and they replaced the drawer it immediately. Until this year we have found their products to be high quality and have been satisfied with their service.
So far this year we have purchased 5 pieces and 2 have arrived damaged! The first damaged piece was a TV console with doors that were so badly aligned and hinged that the tech who came out suggested we put a 2” block under one side to correct the problem. He tried to blame it on our floors being uneven! When he left we contacted customer service and told them the piece was defective and unacceptable and they agreed to reorder the piece. They allowed us to keep the console until the new one arrived 2 months later. We were very satisfied with the new one that was delivered.
Our experience with this Huntington House sofa has been totally different and has been handled very unprofessionally by one of the owners. When the driver called David Baer to inform him of the damage to the couch, David minimized the damage, said they repaired this type of issue all the time and said his technicians could stretch and re-sew the material on the side panel in order to conceal the rip. After thinking about his proposed solution and being concern about the long term wear after this type of repair, I called David the next day and told him that this wasn’t acceptable. I had paid quite a lot for this high quality piece of NEW furniture and wasn’t not willing to accept a repaired damaged product as a new piece of furniture. I wanted them to reorder the piece and allow us to keep the damaged piece until it came in (which could take another 8 months) just as they had done with the original TV console that was delivered damaged.
During our conversation David blatantly refused several times and told me “that’s not going to happen”. I was shocked. The damage was caused on their end, either by the factory, in transit or at Baer’s warehouse. Even online stores like Wayfair stand behind their products and replaced damage products without requiring you to return the damaged product.
Following my dissatisfactory interaction, It took a week for anyone to call me about the repair. I finally received a call from the third party repair company contracted by Baer who is scheduled to come out Dec 17th, almost a month after the sofa was delivered. When I spoke with the repair company I was told that if they were not able to repair the sofa to a like new condition they would notify Baer.
In South Florida, Baer Furniture has had the reputation of being a high-end furniture showroom geared towards excellent customer service and satisfaction. Our experience so has not been reflective of that reputation.
I am giving Baer the opportunity to rectify the situation because David Baer has given me other no option. However, should this repair produce anything less than a flawlessly result equivalent to a like new sofa appearance and quality, I will insist that Baer reorder the sofa and let us keep this one until the replacement comes in and pursue...

My wife and I purchased a bedroom set form Baers Furniture located on 910 us highway in n.p.b on 11/29/18 and took delivery on 12/04/19 and after 3.5 months later the mattress is sinking , so I called costumer service an 1 week later they called me and told me that they would be sending some one out to see the mattress, when the inspector came in my bedroom He immediately noticed that the mattress was sinking, He did some testing and He told me that someone from baers furniture Furniture would be getting back to me, no one did... 3 weeks later I called and I spoke with the gentleman and he said your claim is denied... I asked why? he simply told me that it was sinking but not enough, I asked him can you explain ? He said well it needs to be one inch and a half for it to be considered a claim, I said so its defective... but not enough defective? he said yes! he said... call back in 90 days and we will recheck the mattress, which means I have to be half a year with a defective product? that's not right . I don't understand this, why such a big company like Baers Furniture does this to hard working people, all I want is for a good matress that...
Read moreMy experience in the past was very good but no this time. Got my bed delivered on Saturday 6/4/223 afternoon it was raining then. I noticed after they left that the headboard was very shiny but didn’t think much of it them. I went to work Sunday and came back home on Monday the headboard was still looking very glossy but not the footboard it has a flat paint, when I touched the headboard it was very sticky and glued to my pillows, took some pictures to compare to the ones I took in the store and it was not the same way at all. I tried going to the store to talk to them but it’s closed till June 8 for public. I am not happy at all with this. I called the stone but no one answered. Called a different store and I was told that today someone will be at the store taking phone calls only. I sure hold to get the right colored headboard because my head and foot board does not match. This is a very expensive bed that I got and I should not be going through this paying the amount I paid. This will be my last time doing business with bears furniture. I wish I could post a picture here. I am holding that this is solved today and I get a new headboard with no problems. I will keep you posted but for now...
