I took an eight week wheel class here last January. The class was lovely, the instructor Julian was patient and professional, everything was great - until the studio moved to a new location during the last few weeks of class. They were unable to fire our pieces, so we were unable to glaze and do the final firing. I was leaving for home up north for a surgery. Julian promised he’d protect our pieces, and I would be able to come back and fire, glaze and fire again in October at no extra cost to me. I think I was the only snowbird - he had my contact info and was well aware that I would not be back till October. I contacted the studio and Julian a week or two ago and told him I’d be back on October 22. He informed me that my pieces were lost, and the studio would give me free clay to remake them, but I’d have to pay $65 for the drop in fee to do that. Totally unacceptable. Three pounds of clay is maybe $5? So I sent an email to the managers. The response I got back said they had contacted everyone - nope. They had discarded my “abandoned” pieces. I don’t have any texts emails or phone calls from them. They said they would offer me $50 off the cost of another class - class cost is $450. Or I could have a private session with $50 off - so my cost would be $50. I’m so disappointed and so sad - and very angry. I was planning to join as a member in January. I’ve been taking classes up north at a senior center and am a member in a lovely studio near my home in Philadelphia. But now I will not have anything to do with Craft Haus. They made me a promise - I paid for a class and wasn’t able to finish because of their issues. It was out of my control. We’ve brought a group of 7 to paint ceramics there. I did a try it night before I took the eight week class. They have lots of my money. They won’t be...
Read moreI went here on 11/05 on the anniversary of my dogs death and sat for over 2 hours making a mug and was so excited to have something sentimental for her. I get a call a week later to come pick it up, I go there very excited, pick it up, go back to the car to open it… and it’s not my mug. A complete different mug. (But the date on the bottom is the same date I went). I go back in to tell them thinking they will just give me the correct one but no. They don’t have it. They don’t know where it is. She hands me a refund receipt saying maybe it was switched and they might bring it back. None apologetic at all. This was so heartbreaking for me I literally went back to my car and cried. This wasn’t just going on my day off to paint a silly mug, this was different and sentimental. They didn’t even try to look for it. They could have went back in their system to see whose mug I got and maybe called them. They could have started opening the closed bags that they packaged obviously incorrectly. But no. They did nothing. They took the easy route and gave me my money back. They wasted my 2 hour’s painting, they wasted my gas to drive there and back from boynton with nothing to show for it, and they emotionally effected me when I was already emotional from my dogs literal death. I’m so disappointed with this place which is so sad because I was ready for this to become a regular therapeutic thing for me and it’s done nothing but cause me distress. (See attached the mug I was so proud of that...
Read moreIf leaving 0 stars was an option at this point I would. CraftHaus completely ruined what should’ve been a fun experience. I paid about $80 for an Adult Try it class along with a gift card for my mother in law to enjoy a fun pottery night together and was lied to multiple times by both employees and management. No one took responsibility, and everyone gave me different excuses. It’s unprofessional and unacceptable. First the glaze was incorrect and then the kiln didn’t work correctly. Each time I called for resolution and answers I was asked to leave my name for a manager to return my call and never heard back. I called and was questioned each time why I needed to speak with management and to wait for them to call back as my piece is being “worked on” as if this was a charity service. If this is how they handle basic customer service for my sad little pottery piece, don’t ever expect honesty or accountability. I used to refer others to try this place prior to their move but after this experience I say...
