I stayed here with my GF the week of 8/7-8/11
I was initially worried because of some of the other reviews I read.
We had a Gulf View room on the top floor.
Parking was simple underneath the hotel or in the parking lot directly in front of the entrance. Parking is $20 a day added to your bill. Reasonable. Always spots available during my stay.
The checkin process was simple and I had zero issues with any of the staff. Pleasant people.
First “issue” was the elevator. They are on the slower side like other people say. It wasn’t a huge issue, really. Sometimes the card doesn’t work properly but I’ve had the same issue elsewhere. Use the Hilton app and you can access your room that way if it is really a big deal for you.
The room was great. The view was amazing. The cleaning crew did a really really good job making sure there was no sand anywhere in the hotel. It really was clean. The bed was comfortable. I like my pillows on the very soft side but that’s my preference.
The balcony was nice and the view of the sunset at night made it worth the price.
Breakfast onsite is at the Mangos resteraunt. You are given a voucher for each person in your room for each day. The food is good (nothing amazing, but you will be saving money and time eating here instead of driving out each morning). I enjoyed the Tahitian Toast a lot.
The pool was nice to have and you can just sit on the chairs and watch the beach of you wanted to. It is apparently heated - and they do not turn it off during summer , from what I overheard the one employee say - they keep it at 83 degrees which feels like that shouldn’t be done if it is true. But with how hot it is outside I can’t imagine the pool would be much cooler anyways. It is a decent pool though. And it’s nice that it’s right on the beach, instead of on the front of the hotel like some are.
The tiki bar was cool to have.
I want to mention the hotel lobbies shop - normally I don’t even look at these since the prices are so inflated. Not here. You’ll save money and time just getting stuff from the hotel lobbies shop if you need anything. Snacks, drinks, beer, Red Bulls, hats, etc.
I really can’t say anything bad about this place. They will be renovating In September so I’m sure it’ll be even nicer when it’s done.
Seriously I don’t understand some of the other reviews. Maybe I have different expectations than other people or I am way less bougie, but I loved my time here.
The beach Infront of the hotel was super nice. We drove south to look at the other beaches and I was relieved to see that north Redington beaches were muchhhhh nicer and smoother than Treasure Island or St Pete. We also drove up to Clearwater beach which was going to be the other option that we picked. Like the other reviewer mentioned , it was like a zoo up there on the beach. Packed, noisy, and just anxiety inducing. I mention this to drive home how quiet and relaxing the doubletree location was.
The location of the hotel was convenient in that you had plenty of options around you for shopping. Do yourself a favor and go to Winn-Dixie/Publix/Walmart and get yourself some gallons of water and some sunscreen. Check out Aloha-To-Go in Indian Shore for some great Hawaiian bbq.
The staff was awesome and very helpful. I would absolutely stay here again.

Read moreOn August the 27th I reserved a room at the double tree redington Beach Hotel. I was traveling with my mother and sister and I reserved a double Queen bedroom. I received the confirmation and the next day I got a notification on the Hilton Honors app asking me to check in. The app did not show me an option to change the checking options. I just hit check-in it said the app would give me a digital key.it never did. I arrived to the hotel and the person in the reception informs me that I changed my room. According to them I changed to a king size bed. I explained to them that I did not make any changes. How could I make any changes if I am traveling with two more people. Their attitude was very stubborn and they blamed me for it. They just said it was my fault. Even the manager said it was my fault because I made a change in the app. They offered to set up a small bed in the room. They assigned me a room on the 5th floor. I go upstairs enter the room and the air conditioning wasn’t working. Meanwhile my mother and my sister are waiting for me. All my luggage is in my car and we have to wait until somebody comes to fix the AC. I go downstairs and tell the front desk to give me a different room. They said no… to what they say everything is booked. It was early. They could have given me my room. But they preferred to inconvenience me and my family instead of honoring my confirmation. On top of that they wanted my family out of the room they had given me on the 5th floor because the maintenance guy was coming to fix the AC…. After some time they gave me a room on the 6th floor with the little uncomfortable bed and they said it was an upgrade. I had the worst night sleep. That bad was all springs and it made noise every time I moved. Not to say it was uneven, and comfortable in design like. Like for a kid in a hospital. I received my invoice and the cost was the same for a double queen bed. I go to the reception to complain in the lady says “that bed is actually very comfortable. I have slept in that one in emergencies. I told hwr my reservation wasn’t honored and I had a poor night sleep. I shouldn't have to argue with a receptionist and the manager over an agreement I made with Hilton Honors. If I paid for that double queen bedroom I should be given a double queen bedroom especially if I arrive early and for sure the other rooms hadnt been taken. I would also like to mention that the basement floor connecting the entrance to the beach access in the parking lot smells like garbage. It stinks from the moment one gets off the car into the entrance area. It’s a foul smell. This area is right next to the kitchen and it smells bad. Like grease and trash. Why does Hilton allow a nasty entrance smell if that is the first impression one gets of the hotel. Why am I blamed for am app and for the poor accountability of the...
Read moreOur stay at this Doubletree was a mixed experience. We arrived early and were hoping to check in early, but was told our room wasn’t available yet. They told us they would put us on the early arrival list and would be contacted when ready. Check-in was at 4pm and we received a message at 3 pm that our room was ready. The hotel in general was very nice, as it was recently renovated. We did eat at the on site restaurant for lunch and that was a nice experience with a spectacular view of the beach. The food was good and prices typical of a hotel joint. The hotel pool is small. The room itself was nice and modern, but the beds were uncomfortable, unfortunately. A/C didn’t work properly - we kept having to wake up in the middle of the night to adjust it, as it wouldn’t stay on. We had also requested a crib for our infant upon check-in and were told it would be accommodated. When we got up to our room, there was no crib. When we told the front desk when we went back downstairs, they confirmed they would have one sent up. That evening, we never received the crib. Then later that evening, there was a gas leak a few blocks away. This forced the hotel and other buildings on the block to turn off their gas. This meant no hot water. This lasted all night until we checked out at 11 am the next morning. We weren’t provided any discount for the inconvenience at all, and were just told: “We should just be thankful that the building didn’t blow up.” I would say that this response is representative of the customer service provided throughout our stay at this Doubletree. This seemed like a ridiculous response to us because if this were the case, shouldn’t the hotel have been evacuated? We also were wanting to eat breakfast at the hotel in the morning, and all they had was a ‘continental breakfast’. It was pretty disgusting - danishes and pastries tasted freezer burnt and besides toast and bagels, there were runny eggs and a bowl of fruit. We left without eating anything. Finally, the parking cost is misleading, as the website states it’s a $20 charge. Upon check-in, they charge you $25+tax. Overall, if you’re merely looking for a hotel on the beach with nothing more, then this could be a good place for you. If you’re looking for nice, friendly accommodations with lots of amenities, this isn’t the...
