Great place to get your truck and car accessories. I went to get some amp steps installed on my single cab truck. Other shops did not want to do it. Crank it did. They went above and beyond to do what I wanted on my truck. Go give them a visit.

Not only have I have no bass in my car since October of 2011, but I just paid Mac Churchill Acura, last week, $65 plus tax to recover my missing back seatbelt that their installer lost, bolting the seat over it such that it could not be used. This is in addition to the $500 labor and almost $500 in equipment I had already paid for in 2011!

In May 2011 I brought my Acura to Crank It Up simply upgrade the factory sub woofer. The factory location is a free air application. Here are ALL of the problems I have encountered

  1. When I brought the car in, the installer seemed like he had NO IDEA how to do a free air application. He kept harassing me over and over again about a box in the trunk, which I don’t need or want.
  2. He used the WRONG part to tap into my factory radio so, for the first WEEK after getting the work done to my car, even when the radio was off, my entire car was making BAD noises – It took a week to get the car back to them so he could replace it with the right part. It was his own admission that he used the wrong part, not an assumption on my part.
  3. I brought in my own equipment – I kicker free air woofer, a RF Amp, and a Dynamat trunk kit. Their people said my amp was bad and made me buy one off of their display board on closeout. This was FRAUD. I tested that amp when I got home. It worked fine. I sold it to a friend for $50 and it’s still in his car working today!
  4. The Kicker apparently has a longer throw than the factory woofer. Their guys tried on 3 occasions to deal with that and could not figure out how to. I called two other shops which called these guys idiots saying yes, the throw is longer and that the only way to do this is to build a custom grille and cut the rear deck. Three different shops have quoted me between $220 and $475 to do this.
  5. Still I never did the custom grille because the whole setup that Crank It Up installed stop working completely in October 2011. So I went from a little bass with the factory setup before May to NO bass after October 2011.
  6. I called them twice in October 2011, once in November 2011, January 2012, and finally in April 2012. They had no intention of fixing this without charging me more money. So, I gave up and have not done anything since. I never should have tried to upgrade in the first place… Parts and labor I have spent almost $1000 and have a WORSE sound system to show for it.
  7. Not only that, the install was so POOR that they permanently TRAPPED one of my seatlbelts under the back seat! Well, we had our third child in March, making the 5th seatbelt a need. We tried to do without, not using my car to go anywhere with the full family of 5. However, when my wife’s car needed to go into the shop, this presented a real problem so we went ahead and paid Acura to fix it.

Crank It Up should be ashamed. They talk about being experts and you can’t even figure out custom fabrication and/or free-air subwoofer application. I know they have screwed up my car and I am just mad about it. As I said, I previous dropped it, but having to pay ANOTHER charge to Acura associated with their incompetence this last week brought up old memories so I felt compelled...

I got a DVD player AC10UHD-10.1 installed by these folks ordered through Toyota of Dallas. This player has a USB source. The USB source has not been able to read any video format mp4, avi etc. What is frustrating is this guy at front desk Johnny has not shown any interest in fixing or even acknowledging the problem. When I showed it to him, he told me USB is old school; workaround is to stick in a fire TV stick into the HDMI port & use your mobiles data plan to watch movies. Well, USB is an input source; it should read the video formats mentioned in the website. Next, Johnny tried using the remote himself & it did not work. He did not have a battery to check if the problem is with the battery. So, I asked him for a remote replacement & he said we dont have it & shipments are delayed because of COVID-19. His exact words, "I dont care if you are the nephew of Donald Trump, you are not going to get it expedited any sooner". His technicians were busy at that moment, so I asked him to fix an appointment later; so we could troubleshoot better. He couldn't offer that as well & just shooed me away. The DVD player does not work either, i tried inserting a CD & it got stuck inside. I am leaving this review after almost a month trying to contact Crank it Up repeatedly. Unfortunately, they don't want to own a poor product/installation. Other reviews suggest that unfortunately, I have dealt with a bad customer representative. Looking forward to working with the right person to...

Worst amp install

  1. 3 but connectors on one wire and spliced in 2 different types of wire gauge.
  2. Connected power wire to main wiring bus computer terminal instead of battery terminal
  3. Remote wire wrapped around 10amp fuse and fuse pushed back in.
  4. RCA adapter stuffed behind back seat and not attached at all
  5. Missing screws on amp install and loose.
  6. Main power cable under the hood was routed over the top of the engine instead of routing neatly.
  7. Also took 8 hours for this fine workmanship.
  8. Owner Wouldn't refund the install fees.

Worst install ive ever had on any vehicle. I called the shop manager and asked for a amp install quote and was quoted a very cheap price, i thought (160.00). After 8 plus hours working on the vehicle i started having my doubts on this place. The workmanship looked OK since it was already dark at that time when picking up my truck. After further evaluation of the install i found multiple issues listed above. At the end of the day i guess you get what...
