Today, my Chili Cheese Coney was presented to me upside down, and leaking out all over my other food in the bag. Doesn’t this look delicious?
It seems this location has failed me for the last time. I’m confident it is management’s fault, and the downright failure to train their employees properly. Sonic isn’t the job most people aim to have a career in, I expect a turnover rate, and that’s just how it is, but it was my first job, that it was.
Timeframe. Takes longer than 5 minutes to receive a drink only order. Back in my day, the deadline was 2 minutes per drink only order. 5 minutes for a food order, except chicken, which takes at least 5 minutes to cook thoroughly.
Presentation. Pictures speak louder than words here. The bag management leaves a lot to be desired.
Confirmation. Failed to read back my order at the drive thru, cut off my order halfway to tell me the total, didn’t ask if I wanted anything else.
Up-Selling. None whatsoever. Fails to provide utensils. Fails to ask if I want Ketchup. Nothing.
They were out of Dr. Pepper one day. It’s my evening ritual, after work, stop by sonic for a large Dr. Pepper. Fine I’ll go somewhere else… next day I got a Dr. Pepper… that tasted a lot more like Diet Dr. Pepper. Meaning they still didn’t have Dr. Pepper, but took my money anyway. As a Native Texan, and a former employee of sonic, yes. There is a distinct taste. this was a mortal sin, that it was.
And I did my job to the best of my ability for $4 less than minimum wage, because of tips. Never did I fail to this extent. This was just 10 years ago. The employees, their wages, nor their attitude is ever the problem. It’s the failure of management to train the employees properly, extensibly, or even adequately.
As I said prior, failed me for the last time. Tried to forgive, forget, benefit of the doubt, move on… but from now on, I will be taking the 10 minute drive to the location on 377.
Thank you for reading.
Edit: My response is adequate enough for my experience. I do believe it's the same two guys running this franchise for decades now. The same guys who closed down my store on Watauga Rd. and laid off the whole team with a whopping 2 hour notice. If these guys are still involved, you now know where the root of the issue is. Regardless, I don't believe talking to the owner is the answer. The answer, is simply taking my...
Read moreToday Tuesday January 27th, 2015. My friend and her 1 month old daughter came over to have lunch and hang out a little bit with my mother and I to catch up in person. My mother who is ill and was left to take care of the baby long enough to go with my friend and go get our food it is right down the road from our house. We get there for something we thought would be a 15 minute trip ended up being 45 minutes we haven't eaten all day we're starving! My friend and I were at the drive thru for 15 minutes trying to place our order, because the lady kept telling us to hold on and kept having us repeat ourselves we checked our orders and thought everything looked okay. We ordered a Jr. Burger with cheese, a foot long chili cheese coney with onions, a large tater tot with cheese, onion rings, fries, medium sprite, large diet coke with vanilla, and a large sprite extra ice. We get to the window and waited a extra 25 minutes for our food. Just to get home with our food being cold, and my mothers order not being right. My friend called up there and asked to speak to a manager now please. The manager, Lori screamed at her (mind you my mother is deaf in one ear and could hear her) and asked her what is your problem. My friend then lost all her patience and went off on her. My friend and I went back up there and she replaced the order, but when she got to the window she told my friend that she looks like she needed a hug and my friend said excuse me?! She said are you sure you don't need a hug? You act like you need a hug and was so rude and hateful. Not to mention she said it was the kitchen, and not our order takers fault; when in fact it was the order takers fault. My point is this manager is so rude and disrespectful to the employees and the customers. We usually go all the time during happy hour and every time she is always interviewing people cause she can't keep employees and she is doing most of the talking instead of interviewing, always on the phone dealing with people complaining, not to mention there is always, always, always a sign saying that they are accepting applications. People have called corporate on her and she's nice when they're; there I just wish someone would catch...
Read moreI do not like leaving negative reviews but this sonic will no longer be our "go to location" any more. We pull up Thursday evening 7ish Waited about 10 minutes for the order to be taken no problem with that as they were busy. The little boy begins to take the order takes one order for the Chilli cheese burrito and says okay then says the order total, we stop him and say hold up there's more the kid then catches an attitude... Through the whole ordering process he still has the attitude and then begins to argue about the number 4 not coming with onions even though the pic shows onions. We get the food finally and guess what that #4 has onions. And we got tots instead of fries good job. We press the button to get it corrected and this little boy comes out with what I can only assume is the manager that says absolutely nothing as this goof ball that's trying to explain that the burger doesn't come with onions while looking at the picture.. He finally realized it does come with onions and says he will fix it.... Sorry no we now just want a refund. He runs back in to do a refund then comes out and says no refund until they get the food back fine didn't want it anyway as were doing the food exchange, he begins screaming across the parking lot to his friends! Par for the course at this point. I have never received such poor service from any sonic in my life and possibly any other food place for...
