I had built a custom PC for my first time and couldn't get it to boot up and my friends couldn't figure out the problem either, I had taken it to a different shop before coming here, having a phone call with them and whether they could service my PC and was asked whether I bought it from them or not, I answered no and was told okay and then brought the PC in the shop and was told that they only service PC's bought from them, which to put it lightly didn't leave me very happy, fortunately it was that what lead to me finding this shop and I called up the owner and told him the situation and was told to bring it in and drop it off, went through with it and dropped off my contact info. I got the call back from the owner about a week later informing me that he's starting to work on my build, which for seemingly only one person working the shop was fast, and what was even faster was that he called me back only 2 days later informing me that it was built and ready to be picked up, only problem was that my cpu cooler fan had shoddy brackets which wouldn't sit on the heatsink right and I asked the owner if he could replace mine on the spot and he said he'll check, I then went to pick it up the next day and viola, he had gotten a new cooler fan already installed and all, then essentially summed up that the actual problem with the build, was not bad wiring and rather I had bent the pins on the motherboard that the cpu sits upon and that the owner had managed to fix it! a lesser owner would've and rightfully asked me to completely replace my motherboard and put in a new one with via their suggestion but not Stefan! Read moreI just want to say that I have never received better customer service in any technical capacity. They were quick, professional and thorough. I had an old ASUS notebook that kept blacking out on me and I didn't know what the problem was. I dropped it off to ComputerLand, and they listened to my tale of woe and wrote everything down and told me they would call me in forty-eight hours with a diagnosis and a quote. And they did call me, as promised, on the dot. They said it was the monitor and they quoted me a very reasonable price. They told me the work would take about four business days. Then, they called me four days later and said that they received and installed the monitor, and at first everything seemed OK, but then the computer went on the fritz again. So, they did more diagnostic testing, and discovered it was the motherboard.
They said they would not charge me for the new monitor. They then offered to replace the motherboard, or they could give me a refurbished computer for half the price and just transfer all my data. I chose the latter option and lo and behold! The refurbished computer is MUCH faster and better than my old notebook. I am really very happy and grateful to them. They took extra time and care to fully understand the problem and they also gave me options. Also, whenever I call them, Alex himself answers the phone. That means a lot to me- a personal touch. Read moreWe were fortunate to find Glenview Computerland when our Asus laptop restarted from an update to a blank screen. We were presenting work that was backed up only on the Asus. It required additional edits and it resisted all efforts to restore it.
I had called Geek Squad but was told I could only drop it off with no assurance it would get attention on that Friday.
I searched for options and found Glenview Computerland where I had the option for a reasonable $40 fee to have it assessed immediately. By Friday afternoon I was able to pick it up with a warning that all testing was not complete but the applications I needed were running and I could bring it back if other problems developed.
We were able to complete and backup our project with an unforgiving deadline by Saturday. By Sunday we were aware of a few problems including some frozen applications and C drive anomalies.
We brought it back Monday. By Tuesday we picked it up and all is well. We are grateful for the pleasant, professional and reasonably priced service. There is a 30 day warranty but all is working perfectly.
