Acme is caving in to the current trend of self checkout and it's a travesty. Today I watched several employees behind the customer service counter, for all appearances being held back there by their angry faced manager, and when a customer approached to ask for help, said manager sneered at her and retorted that she needed to use self checkout "like everybody ELSE." Not every customer is ABLE to use those registers. Period. There are many reasons why someone might not want to use them, but some simply can't use them. Obviously, the sour manager doesn't dictate policy, it's an owner issue. The ownership of Acme is showing both their greed and lack of care for customers by forcing these ridiculous self checkout stations. PAY YOUR STAFF A LIVABLE WAGE and perhaps short staffing won't be an issue. As a final thought, little Caligula the grocery store manager is a discredit to staff. Her annoyed scowl clearly showed her disdain for paying customers, and by proxy, the lack of leadership that only greedy owners can create. Do better. There are perfectly run Aldi stores not even ten minutes away from this location. I know that I'll be taking my business there in future, as should anyone else that values the hard work...
Read moreI've shopped at acme for many years because its a nice clean store and a bit smaller, which I like. Unfortunately, on Friday night I went and had a cart full of groceries (spent $350) and ALL the registers were closed. I asked and they said the registers close at 9pm, which I didn't know, nor did they announce over the intercom. It was 9:04. It took me over 20 minutes for self checkout, the clerk standing at the self checkout had to sign in three different times because I was taking so long. I had to scan some item, bag them, put in the cart and then start over. NO ONE would help me. I considered just leaving all the groceries there but that would just mean I'd have to go and shop all over again somewhere else and I don't like doing this in the first place. There is no reason that they couldn't have someone help me. Especially since I had 2 carts that I had to take out. Extremely disappointed in their lack of customer service and just willingness to help someone out...
Read moreI’ve experienced several issues with out of date items being purchased. Once an item was months out of date. I called and was assured things would be taken care of—they weren’t. I removed a basket full of out of date items when walking back to replace the item I had picked up. No one seemed bothered or action oriented which became a pattern. I don’t know if I have ever been greeted really by any employees without first saying hello. Self-check is interesting: I’ve been semi-accused of trying to still something that wouldn’t ring while asking for help with said item and I’ve been completely ignored while my register flashed for help. I’ve also made it in and out of this store with no human interaction on multiple occasions. It’s right down the road, I want to love it. I greatly dislike it. I enjoy the...
