This park is my family's home. I am a Pinkney. My name is Cindy Pinkney Canavan. This was owned by my family for generations. My great grandmother, Gertrude Seeley Dibble Pinkney, to me she was Great Grandma, was still alive when I was a teenager and I grew up here coming to family holidays and Sunday dinners in the 1950s and 60s. My grandmother, Dorothy Cowles Pinkney, to me she was Grandma Dot, sold the house in the early 1970s to the Rowayton Historical Society. I am happy many people get to enjoy the grounds where my cousins and I grew up playing. It is a beautiful spot on 5 Mile River. You can enjoy picnicking there in warm weather and view the downstairs of our old family homestead when the Museum is open. If you are quiet, you may hear a voice or catch a glimpse of my great grandmother, who was born and died there. She always said she would haunt us when she died! And her spirit lives on there still. Thank you to the Rowayton Historical Society for keeping the house in good shape and having many public events there during the year. I plan to bring my oldest granddaughter there soon. She and my youngest granddaughter are the first of our next generation of Pinkneys. Enjoy our old family home. There is much love...

In the middle of town so it's quick to get into and out of to other errands...
