Good fun for the whole family! Used to be better when there was an open resturant. (From what I hear there's a resturant opening again soon) Hopefully the prices arnt to crazy because bowling for a larger group is already costly but thats all bowling Allys now a days playing per person per game it adds up quickly. As for norwich bowling I prefer it over groton even though groton is 5 minutes from me. I will restate from my previous rating as maybe I wasn't clear enough. The only difference between other local places and norwich is that they don't allow drinks on the area behind the lanes. Obviously Noone allows drinks on the bowling lanes. But this place specifically you have to go up top and leave the game to go get your drinks which I find odd just because I've been raised to not leave drinks unattended where other people can access them. Its just a pet peeve of mine. If Noone is watching the drinks up behind you while you play. Then who knows if something could get put in them. Just a crazy thing we think about. But as I've been told its policy not to have drinks at the lower tables. I just don't agree. But ill leave that for you all to make your own decisions on if thats sketchy to yall or not. Otherwise this place is definitely a fun spot they have more options then just bowling I didn't see if the pool tables were open last time I went. I hope so it was one of the best added bonuses to this...
Read moreI've decided to add details from my experience in an effort to help others with their decision or choice to go to this place:
I went ahead and got a Groupon in which I called this establishment and spoke to an employee and asked if I can make reservations like the Groupon stated to do, her response was "it's first come first serve". I informed her that I had a Groupon and that's what it said to do, she again repeated herself. My perception was that she seemed annoyed. Now I believe that all of us can have bad days, but please do not deal with customers, if you are.
Got there with my child, checked out shoes and was told that there are no bumpers for his age. As we're approaching our lane, we were about to go down to the platform which has carpet (not the actual bowling lane) and told that we had to remove our footwear on the top platform. Now, I believe that customer service is all on your approach and delivery... You don't yell at patrons like they just committed a huge violation of the law.
Needless to say, I am willing to travel a little for awesome customer service.
Training is necessary for that employee on communication skills and proper...
Read moreI generally have a wonderful time here; the staff is aways nice and accommodating, the bartenders are wonderful, and the food is delicious. Five stars to them.
Usually when I go I am allowed to have bumpers. In the past the staff have never mentioned an age limit nor is it mentioned on their website. Tonight I was told by a manager that I was not allowed to have them as I was over the age of ten (I am almost 30 but new to bowling and have issues with my vision.)
Had I known this had been the rule I would not have chosen to go here again. It was not made clear on any signage, not mentioned to us tonight upon arrival, mentioned in the past, or posted anywhere.
You are welcome to have your rules, but saying that the employees who have given me bumpers in the past should have been fired was out of pocket.
It sucks because over all I like going here, but knowing that I'm not allowed to have bumpers because I'm too old is just dumb. I know 10 year olds taller than me who can throw a ball...
