It is difficult to know how to begin describing the nightmare experienced at this hotel. I stayed at the Comfort Suites (CT006) location on Ostrobando Ave in Norwich for 2 days with my wife and son. As the first evening wore on, we discovered more and more unpleasant elements within the room. Stains on the curtains, couch and walls, the carpet was filthy, tattered and worn. The beds were uncomfortable and smaller than we expected; we were under the impression that the room had two queen beds but it turned out they were doubles. The bathroom was mediocre at best then my wife took a shower and discovered that the shower/tub would not drain and we were left with a tub half filled with water. The room door fit the frame so poorly that you could literally see out into the hallway through the large cracks around the door. The door was so crooked that the only way to lock the door was to lift up on one side of the door while turning the lock-knob. The next morning, we explained the above to the woman at the front desk who agreed to switch our accommodations to a suite room with a king bed and a pullout couch for our son. Not a word was mentioned of any additional room charges; we made the mistake of believing that the room switch was being done in good faith “for our inconvenience.” It was not until checkout that we discovered that we had actually been charged double the first night’s rate ($100 to $200) for the second night’s stay. We spent Saturday in the Norwich area and then headed home around 4pm. While unpacking the car after a 3-hr ride home, we discovered that we had mistakenly left our laptop in a drawer in the hotel room. I called the hotel immediately and was told: “Oh yes, we have your laptop at the front desk.” They had my name, they had my cell phone number and we had been in the area all day long; had they just called me when they found it, I could have easily have picked it up before driving 3 hours back home. Kawal (front desk) told me that my only recourse was to either drive 3 hours back to CT or purchase a FedEx shipping tag ($50), email it to the hotel, and they would box it and ship it to me. After several failed attempts to get the size of the box the hotel would use, I gave up. I was repeatedly told by Kawal that he didn’t know what size box he would use; he just kept saying “any random box”. Unfortunately, FedEx does not offer “any random box” as a choice. Finally, I made arrangements with FedEx for a label and a large FedEx box for the shipping. Since FedEx is closed on Sunday, I was told that the laptop would be dropped off for shipping on Monday morning. When I called the hotel around 3pm on Monday to check the status, I was told by the woman who answered at the front desk that the laptop was still there and FedEx had not picked it up yet. When I explained to her that I was told that the hotel would be dropping it off at FedEx Monday morning, she said: “We don’t do that.” At this point, I asked for the manager's name and number, and she told me: “I can’t give you that.” She repeated her statement twice. When I said: “This is going to be a problem, may I have your name?”, she actually hung up on me. About 40 mins later, I received notification from FedEx that the package was in their hands and it was in transit. When the laptop finally arrived at my door the next day, I could not believe my eyes; neither could the delivery driver for that matter. The hotel never put the laptop (in its soft case) into a box, they simply wrapped 2 strips of packing tape around the label and the case and must have dumped it into one of those FedEx drop boxes because according to the delivery driver, FedEx would never have accepted the shipment that way. It's a miracle that the laptop arrived undamaged and I only have FedEx to thank for that. The owners/employees of this hotel had multiple opportunities to do the right thing to achieve and maintain customer satisfaction; however at every turn, they chose to do the opposite. I would suggest choosing a different hotel if you are staying in Norwich.

Check-in was very prompt. The woman working at the front desk was one of the nicest people I have dealt with in the hotel industry. That's a critical aspect of the customer's view of the hotel. That sets the tone for, in some cases the entire trip. The rooms are great size. I booked a double double suite. The area where two beds are are as big as the standard hotel room and then the little add-on is I would say 10x10 where there is a couch and desk. This helps create a more open feel. The air conditioner went down to I believe 56°. You can keep food cold in there on the desk. Very comfortable pillows and bedding. I believe that the mattresses do need to be rotated there was a sunken spot towards the right we're most people tend to sleep. Bathroom with standard toiletries included the standard. The tub was very clean. The breakfast in the morning was very good. It's a very open relaxed feel not that awkwardness that many hotel breakfasts have. They decorated it that way kind of like an old cabin. The breakfast included the following: coffee milk tea orange juice cranberry juice yogurt bagels toast two waffle stations eggs sausages fresh fruit cereal. Everything was extremely fresh and extremely good. 6 out of 10 times hotel continental breakfasts are horrible unless you are paying for the on-site kitchen or restaurant. This is very well done at this location. Did not visit the onsite restaurant but it definitely looked great. Went down to the pool after breakfast. Water was around 68 to 70 degrees I would say. No jacuzzi present which would have been nice. The gym was being thoroughly cleaned no one was in it. It's attached to the pool and you can see through the glass. Pool area had a cool vibe, could use 8 or 10 Cypress trees to add some texture. Parking was ample and adequate. This parking lot last night was around 70% full, and it wraps all the way around the building. On the back of the building is the addition that the restaurant is in. The highway is located less than 10 seconds after pulling out of the hotel. I would say top 100 hotel locations in the United States were an exit is that close without question. Mohegan Sun is located around 12 minutes away, and it is a pretty easy route. It is not heavily lit though, and most of it it's a residential area so pay attention if that is your destination. In all an excellent stay, and next time I go to the casino I definitely will stay here. Excellent cozy energy in all from staff to even the guests. Thank you.

See for yourself the photos of the trash this place sells for $200. (Photos taken from TWO different "ready to rent King suites") ***The pool has been closed for months; they are false advertising, that's red flag 1. Continue to read for details on our motel 6 experience. I knew something was wrong when the upkeep ended in the lobby. The filth starts in the elevators. Once arriving on level 4 I observe the hall with multiple cameras, I later learn it's because there's major safety concerns here. The room smells of must mixed with fabuloso. The coffee table clearly had not been cleaned so I question what else they skipped! We find a dead bug sitting in the a/c unit. They don't even have the decency to clean their curtain to make the room a little presentable. The Curtains are visibly stained all over & sitting in front of the lovely condensation filled windows. Bathroom door broken. Hair dryer covered in some other woman's old hair gel. Old coffee spills on randoms spots. Filthy stained carpets. Wouldn't even breathe on the jacuzzi. Scratched and beaten up outdated furniture, peeling and cracking tub the list goes on. I went over to Hampton inn for a stay but I felt bad that dad paid all this money for a mess that they wouldn't refund any part of. So I went back so his efforts wouldn't go to waste. I slept in all my clothes and with one eye open. In the am I tried breakfast. The bacon at breakfast was wax strips ! The potatoes taste like black Pepper with a side of potato. The egg patty, apple juice, and napkins were the best thing at the hotel. I'm sure any motel can compete with this place. If you want a good place for the same money! Do yourself a favor & Go around the corner to Hampton or any Hilton or marriot . This isn't a comfort inn it's the uncomfortable inn and management ought to be ashamed selling this trash for anything more than $65.

Review for Comfort Suites Near Casinos

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Comfort Suites Near Casinos, and my experience was truly memorable. From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism that set the tone for my entire stay.

Staff and Service The standout feature of this hotel is undoubtedly its staff. From the front desk to the housekeeping team, everyone was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. They made check-in a breeze and were always available to answer any questions or provide assistance. Their knowledge about the local area, including dining and entertainment options, was impressive and greatly appreciated. The staff's respectful and courteous demeanor made me feel valued as a guest, which is something I consider essential for a comfortable stay.

Rooms The room I stayed in was immaculate. It was clear that the housekeeping team takes great pride in their work, as every corner of the room was spotless. The bed was comfortable, the linens were fresh, and the bathroom was pristine. The room also had all the necessary amenities, including a flat-screen TV, a mini-fridge, and a coffee maker, which added to the convenience and comfort of my stay.

Breakfast The breakfast offered at the hotel was satisfactory, especially considering the reasonable price of the accommodations. While it wasn't a gourmet spread, it provided a decent selection of items, including cereals, pastries, and fresh fruit, along with hot options like eggs and sausages. It was a good start to the day and met my expectations for a hotel in this price range.

Facilities One area where the hotel could improve is in the availability of its facilities. During my stay, the pool, fitness room, and bar were unfortunately closed. This was a bit disappointing as I was looking forward to using these amenities. However, I understand that closures can happen for various reasons, and it didn't significantly impact my overall experience.

Atmosphere The overall atmosphere of the hotel was peaceful and quiet, which I greatly appreciated. It was an excellent environment for rest and relaxation, free from any disturbances. The respect for privacy and the calm ambiance contributed to a very restful stay.

Overall Experience In summary, my stay at Comfort Suites Near Casinos was delightful. The exceptional service provided by the staff, the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, and the overall peaceful environment made for a very positive experience. Despite the temporary closure of some facilities, the hotel managed to impress me with its commitment to guest satisfaction.

I would highly recommend this hotel to families, friends, and anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay near the casinos. On a scale from 1 to 10, I would rate my experience an 8. This hotel offers great value and a genuinely...
