I’m not shocked that I’m back AGAIN for a third time to say I was contacted on 2/7/23 by phone from someone named Heidi stating that she was personally taking care of my refund and I should receive it in 3-5 business days (this is the second time since December that I was told this). Of course, no refund has been processed - just like before. I see other people are struggling with this in the reviews & I highly recommend smalls claims court. Seems about to be the only way to get this business to realize how poor its professionalism continues to be. I would give zero stars if I could.
To follow up on my review from a month ago - I was finally emailed back on 12/30/22 that my membership was cancelled & I was would receiving a refund. I followed up on 1/19 & 1/29 since the refund has yet to be deposited & of course no communication from AF Kailua. I stated in my review (found below) that I would be willing to delete my poor rating once all of this was corrected but over a month later with no luck & communication (again) my review stands. At this point I have pushed for Small Claims Court as this seems to be a concurrent issue with this establishment. So disappointed in this business.
"In October I submitted my PCS orders to AF to leave Hawaii & move back to the Carolinas. I was told my contract would be terminated, I would receive a cancellation email & no further charges would come out - except for in October. After two weeks of not receiving an email I tried to reach out. I left two separate voicemails & I also emailed. I noticed a charge from AF posted in November so once again I tried to contact. Upon having no luck like before I contacted the billing inquiry # on the website. I was told they couldn't help me because AF Kailua is privately owned and the only way it could be resolved was to contact them. I have sense gotten multiple recordings of their phone ringing then going to a full voicemail or just going straight to voicemail. I have also reached out through the website and on facebook. At this point I feel like I have no choice but to seek legal action as another charge has been posted to my account. If someone would like to refund the charges & cancel my contract I would be happy to delete this...
Read moreGym's amenities are fine. Kind staff but totally unresponsive management. You would think a manager would know how to check and respond to email, but I guess not. This is now the second manager since I became a member, and they're 2 for 2 on people who apparently don't know how to use a computer.
I've been trying to cancel my membership as I am moving off island. Heard about the 30 day cancellation policy and proof of moving (weird), and provided everything 45 days out of my moving date. Still haven't heard back from anyone.
The gym is located in a business center with little parking, and the landlord uses a towing company (VIP Towing) that will literally wait around the corner to get a call from the landlord, who has someone watching cameras in the parking lot around the clock. If you park and leave the lot for any reason, your car will be towed to Sand Island within 5 minutes, regardless of your Anytime membership. Don't get towed and give your money to these people.
Despite paying more than $300 to retrieve my car once (I walked across the street to get a coffee after my workout), and sticking through with my membership when the AC was broken for 4 months during the summer, management at Anytime Fitness Kailua will not do me the service of responding...
Read moreThis fitness location has been unwilling to cancel my wife and I's membership. We are military who PCS'd off Oahu last month. On 14 Sep, we gave our Official Orders to one the staff members who took a photo of it, took our key fobs, and said she would pass our cancellation over to the manager. I called on 26 Sep to follow up and emailed my orders again. The manager, Kai, said he would cancel our membership, but I never received any confirmation. I spoke with Kai over the phone twice, he confirmed he had our orders and that we would receive email confirmation (we still haven't). We have yet to receive an acknowledgment of any of our emails. I also called Anytime Fitness corporate, who stated only the local gym controls memberships and to work directly with them. My wife Tiffany and I are still being charged membership fees as of 4 October. I feel I may ultimately have no recourse but to pursue legal action against Kailua Anytime Fitness since I am stationed thousands of miles away, and they still have not responded. I would be happy to avoid that if we receive confirmation that our memberships are canceled, but there may be no other options if we keep...
