No exaggeration: these scooters made our North Shore visit what it was. We spent every day last week scooting between beautiful beaches, walking trails, killer food trucks, art shops, cafes, beachfront mai tai breaks at Turtle Bay, and more between La'ie (where our house was) and Hale'iwa. Plus plenty of trips to Foodland and LOTS of quick rips up to Kahuku for shrimp, trinkets, and libations at the Beer Garden.
Our two baby blue hog-a-roos made every journey part of the fun and all the destinations always attainable, even in trafficky bits like the Waiamea Beach parking lot, we could just sneak around the peak-hour car lines and rock right up whenever we wanted.
The size and power of the scooters is pretty much perfect for cruising Kamehameha Hwy. If we were moving a little slower, any time a car or two wanted to pass, we just followed the locals' examples and cruised into the bike lane, slowed down for a sec, let them pass, and merged back in. Even in the wind and rain, the baby beasts handled well and were a blast to breeze around on.
Most importantly, we can't say enough good stuff about Go With Stoke. Booking and pre-trip communication was abundant and friendly. When we got there, the dude dropped off the scooties at noon and returned to scoop them back up Friday night — easy peasy. Super cool company, super fun experience, super good value for the weekly rental price.
If we make it back there someday, you will definitely see us on a pair of GWS Prontos (and probably hear us giving you a MEEP MEEP when we cruise past...
Read moreThis company was very easy to work with and made things really convenient for me. They are very helpful and will explain everything to you if you need them to. They dropped off and picked up the moped which was really nice. There is a helmet and bike lock under the seat for safety and security.
The bikes can go up to 30-35 miles an hour which is the general speed limit in this area. They barely use any gas, and you don't need to replenish the gas before they pick it back up. The bike was in good shape and condition, and the locals are used to people driving them in the streets. Just stay to the right of the road so drivers can go around you. Even though the mopeds don't go fast, they feel fast. Be careful about taking tight turns if you are not used to these.
Highly recommend this company if you are considering a more personal way to get around the island, and more cost effective than renting a car. Plus you can fit into small spots to lock up the bike. So you won't need to worry about parking. Renting from this company definitely improved my trip, I had fun driving the moped around and checking...
Read moreAmazing customer service with this family run business. Their driver was so understanding of a small hiccup we had our first day but worked with us and was so polite during the entire interaction although the hiccup was my fault. We ended up renting again a few days later because of how easy the whole experience is with them dropping the mopeds off directly to where you need it. You’re chilling at a beach, get it dropped there. You’re at the hotel but planning a big day out, just get them dropped at your doorstep. Can’t say enough about how easy a process it was, they treat you...
