Lāʻie Point State Wayside Scenic views of offshore sea arch, offshore seabird sanctuary, and the windward coast of Oʻahu. Lāʻie Point State Wayside consists of two separate parcels on either side of a dead-end residential street, with no facilities and extremely limited parking. Please respect the neighbors by enjoying this small scenic lookout without blocking driveways or other vehicles. The adjacent undeveloped point is privately owned, please respect. [O’AHU] 1/23/23: The Keawa’ula section of Ka’ena Point State Park is CLOSED due to high surf. • [MAUI] UPDATED 1/23/23: Polipoli Spring State Recreation Area will remain CLOSED until access roads through Kula Forest Reserve are cleared from storm damage and safe to traverse. Anticipated re-opening is the ending of March 2023 (Per DOFAW). For updates, please go to: • [MAUI] UPDATED 11/2/22: ʻIAO VALLEY STATE MONUMENT – As of August 1, 2022 ʻIao Valley State Monument will be closed through February, 2023 for the final phase of the slope stabilization project and parking lot improvements. Amazing point for pictures and relaxing. Perfect for family time. A lot to learn on this place. Laie point State Wayside. Super cool

If you're looking for a quick, scenic viewpoint, this would be a great choice. Stunning views of the windward coast and the hole in the rock cultural legend of the mo'o make this spot a great and worthwhile quick stop. Not a lot of walking to explore this spot but the walking you will do is on jagged rocks and can easily be tripped on and/or can rip your skin open. That being said, shoes would be best but slippers are doable. Either way, be careful when walking here as a trip can easily land you in the hospital or worse, in the ocean. My main complaint with this place is the parking. There seems to be a parking area off of the asphalt road in but the drop off from the asphalt is way too high for normal cars or even trucks to manage. This leads many to just park at the end of the paved road in front of "No Parking Anytime" signs. There are trash cans but no restrooms (probably a good thing, as this isn't a place you'll be spending a whole lot of time at anyway...). Apart from the parking, I really enjoyed this place. The beauty of the windward side really shows here. PLEASE KEEP THIS PLACE CLEAN AND IN GOOD SHAPE. LEAVE IT THE WAY YOU LEFT IT OR IN BETTER SHAPE.

Jutting eastward into the pacific blue, this rugged stretch of land is reached best by foot as vehicle parking is limited at best. There is a shopping center at the origin of the road that takes you to the point. A family of fishers were there the first time we went out. The walk onto the point was coarse so proper footwear is a must. Sneakers. No sandals or flipflops if you want sure footing and you do want sure footing. Watching the surf break and looking onto the stoney outcroppings makes for a worthwhile visit. Take care walking along the roadway to and from. Most motorists were very cordial to those of us on foot. Parking was the chief shortcoming to this beautiful spot. 15-30 minutes is what most visitors spend here.

This place is breathtaking. A good place to stop on a road-trip to see the 'real' uncommercialised Hawaii. Beware beforehand that there is very little parking available (5 cars at most on the point). The rocks are very sharp, so take shoes and carry children. Beautiful snorkeling and cliff diving nearby for confident swimmers. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of limited parking and because we were warned that we should not leave any valuables in the car due to regular break-in incidents. This sort of put a damper on the experience, as I didn't want to veer too far away from the car. Otherwise, STUNNING!!

Very nice place to go. More of a scenic place then a beach. Parking can sometimes be tough to find and you might have some trouble getting back out. Best time to go is either early in the morning or late afternoon. That way it’s not so crowded and hot. Sometimes in the afternoon I’ve seen tour buses go up there and crowd up everything. Perfect spot to watch the sunrise on a clear morning. If you plan to use the jumping spot do not jump if the waves are bigger than 4 feet. If you do you might get smashed against the rocks trying to get back up. Great place and would recommend for its scenic views.

Lā’ie Point is a hidden gem tucked away at the dead end of a residential neighborhood. It's worth a visit if you're touring the island or heading to the North Shore, thanks to its dramatic seascape. Parking is very limited, though. The breathtaking hole in the sea arch and the picturesque lookout point are highlights. Be cautious, as the volcanic rock formations can be sharp and slippery. The waves were roaring on that windy day. Fun fact: The cliff jumping scene from the movie *Forgetting Sarah Marshall* was filmed here. I was in awe of this stunning piece of God's creation! 🤩
