Nice beach but BE CAREFUL boogie boarding on this beach. This beach has the nickname POUNDERS beach for a reason. The waves can slam you down into the sand hard. Several years ago I was boogie boarding here and rode 4 waves. Landed hard on my foot/ankle once but walked it off. Then the last wave I rode - landed on my upper back/shoulder hard and felt a shock go down my spine. I was able to stand up and I shouted for my wife who was sitting on the beach. She helped me to the shore and I sat down for 10+ minutes. I eventually felt better but basically felt like I got the wind knocked out of me bad. I thought I was OK until 2 hours later when I got a bad headache that continued for a couple days whenever I would stand or sit up. To summarize the story - I got nauseous, vomited, went to the ER twice. I was told by the ER doctor that I had a concussion and I needed to lie down for 24 hours except to go to the bathroom. I was fine after I did that. I feel lucky that I'm not a paraplegic after this incident. The Dr. said that Pounders beach is #2 on Oahu for ER visits (Sandy beach is #1). I told a fried from Laie, HI about this and he felt bad and said I wish I would have known...I would have told you to go to Hukelau (sp?) beach about 10 mins north which is much safer. Please choose a different beach to boogie board unless you are advanced skill level...it's...

Temple Beach in Laie, HI, is a stunning and serene destination that offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and peaceful ambiance. Nestled on the northeastern shore of Oahu, this beach is a true hidden gem.

The soft, golden sands and clear, turquoise waters make it an ideal spot for relaxation and swimming. The beach is often less crowded than some of the more popular tourist spots, providing a more intimate and tranquil experience. The surrounding scenery, with its lush greenery and scenic views, adds to the overall charm of Temple Beach.

Whether you’re looking to enjoy a leisurely day in the sun, take a refreshing swim, or simply soak in the natural beauty of Hawaii, Temple Beach is a wonderful choice. It’s a must-visit for anyone in the Laie area looking for a peaceful and picturesque...

Beautiful beach without any rocks! The water was the perfect temperature in December when we were there! Nice area to park and see the temple before going to the beach. The parking lot by the beach has an area to wash the sand off you feet before getting back into your car! The sand was nice and the area. Also, the pathway to the beach was short! We spent a lot of time here one day! The weather, beach, and ocean...

Temple beach is one of my favorite beach’s in Honolulu. Actually it is my favorite specially when I am looking for a place to just swim without waves. Especially with family :) my mom cannot swim in places with strong currents because of her back so this beach is perfect!

A great beach for watching the sunrise. For boogie boarding or body surfing I would recommend going down the street to Pounders Beach instead. This beach is a bit short and from my experience doesn't have as good of surf as Pounders, but it is pretty.
