Manticore Game Shop — Attraction in O’Fallon

Started playing Magic the Gathering 2 days ago and my experience with this shop encouraged me to keep playing. I ended up purchasing 2 boxes of booster packs after the gentleman took his time to explain the pros and cons of each route to take when trying to format my own deck. He took the time to explain what it would take for me to build a deck so I could participate in the tournaments at the store! I felt VERY welcome as a new player. A few customers who I assume were regulars were so kind to say “hello” and to tell us how excited they were that we like the game. It was a lovely experience, start to finish. My debit card had a bit of a problem during check out and the gentleman at the counter was very professional and gave me time to fix it and then still offered a smile the entirety of the purchase. When I first walked into Manticore Game Shop, I didn't know what to expect. Once I stepped inside, it turned into a positive and very friendly atmosphere. The owner and the other employees were extremely kind to me and offered very friendly service. Their prices are very decent and can't really get these kind of prices anywhere else. The employees are quite honest and are willing to look up to show you exactly how much a certain card is worth. It is a fun place to hangout and play games with your friends. I love this place!!! This is my favorite card shop in the area, the staff are so friendly and really do care about all of their customers. I've seen the owner stop what he was doing to explain how games work to families or even take the time to listen to children excitedly talk about their Pokémon cards or anything else really. They run great events and are always very professional. I have always felt safe here as a woman, too, no creepy comments or anything like that.
