This was my first ever hike! It takes 1.5-2 hours to complete depending on fast you go (took us about 1.75 hours).
The entire trail is gorgeous with views of the mountain and a waterfall about halfway up the path. When you reach the top, youâre greeted by an incredible view of the mountains, including the half dome.
As a first-time hiker whoâs out of shape, I would say this was a moderate hike. Thereâs a lot of twists and some areas are a bit slippery due to the sand.
My only issue is that there are no signs so itâs hard to know when you reach the top of Columbia, as you can keep going up for the Yosemite Falls hike, which is about an extra 2 hours up.
