Yosemite Valley Lodge Gift Shop — Local services in Oakhurst

Well stocked gift shop from a food perspective. As vegans we packed a lot with us thinking we wouldn't have food options but this place has been great! Vegan ice cream, crackers, dips, sandwich/wraps, deli slices, marshmallows/chocolate/graham crackers, cookies, trail mixes, granola bars, ramen bowls, curries and rice packets... They also have other goods (such as skewers so we were able to buy all the s'mores supplies we needed). The best part, they have pre-made coffee drinks with plant based milks instead of dairy/cream. Most gas stations...etc have a wall of coffee drinks and they are all dairy based. This gift shop had four options for vegans with almond or oat milk!!! We didn't buy other goods but they seemed to have a lot of seasonally appropriate gear, toiletries, and some souvenirs. Rudest staff member I have ever met in my life and should not be working with tourist at Yosemite National Park! As I was trying to exit a wide open back door marked exit I was approached by a red headed young lady began to walk towards me from the stock room and begin to scream at me “why would I exit a nasty back door for ice cream” I was in shock by her attitude and tone of voice as I was told by another staff member the soft service ice cream was in another area of the park and thought that was a customer exit as it was clearly marked exit with the door was wide open. If you're looking for souvenirs, shop somewhere else.

This place doesn’t have a good selection and is curiously lacking some basics like postcards, scarves, and a variety of t-shirts. The items they do have are very overpriced, and the quality is simply bad.

One of the most disappointing aspects was the rudeness of the employees. They kept yelling at people, were slow, and didn't offer proper help to customers. It felt like they were there to make people’s day worse in what should be the most wonderful place in the nation.
