I came here with my kids for the first time last week because we wanted to try a childrens' library in Oakland we had not been to before. We came here for their "Build, Craft, Play" hour where my kids got to make sun prints. My 6-year old loved it and my 2-year old played with the items used to make the sun prints. The librarian, who was in charge of the craft hour, Rachel (I believe was her name), was extremely welcoming, helpful, and accommodating. We were also very impressed with the amount of toys the library had to offer. Dinosaurs, a play stove and pantry, grocery store items, magnetic boards for sorting and plenty of other things. There are two big rugs to sit and play on as well as tables, little reading nooks, and three big bean bags! The library is nicely decorated with the planets of the solar system and has squares with colorful liquid inside of them taped to the floor that you can walk on. My kids were so excited about these! Also, for my kids to be able to see the toys that can be borrowed instead of the Librarian having to tell them what is currently available (like it is in other library branches), is amazing!! They enjoyed the library so much that I had plenty of time to browse the shelves for new books. I highly recommend checking out this particular branch! (1 Star less because the building and the energy all around resemble the energy in West Oakland.)

Its like any library set up; tone, clmate, and behavior. I dont like the single out about the mask in a rude tone vs others quest. They need to tone down their behavior when approaching someone in a harshly it really not necessary. Adults Not everyone that walks through the door is dumb which comes off with appeatance, jestures and tone.

Get rid of the pay for prints fee (computers) so everyone dosent have to feel that they need to bring cash/ cards. Rather not bring any cash/card on hand since thats can be stolen.

I hope they have all taken three COVID19 test and its registra in the CDC system being a city or county employee of CA. Maybe they can relax more when a person mask slip off for a breather.

SUGGESTION: Cheer Up or liten Up everyone including the guard seems solemn. Play varies types of low music no voices, stops snoozing. COVID19 is not the end of the world and foremost diet, gypm and mind relaxing books/Cds/list should be visually placed to aid in a role of recovery with the vaccines so its becomes more effective. 😼 🙀 🙉 Hanging out in the library/church can be modane especially for youth and seniors. Other then that its a library; you...

It's a nice quite place where you can get many things done. It also have convenient hours for the most part. Which it stays open till 8pm some days, and on others it closes at 5:30pm. There is also a lot of resources you can find there that you wouldn't expect. It's a very useful place, even more than most just regular libraries. So be it, this is not just a...
