Family came from out of town. Decided to go to gamestop to buy a switch. We arrived and were told the store was at capacity due to covid 19. We completely understood and agreed to stand outside waiting. 2 people left and 2 from my party went inside. Then some more left so the rest of us tried to go inside. We again where told at capacity. We went back outside. A women and child came to the door, we told them the store was at capacity. They went in anyway and I thought they would be asked to leave, they where not. So I opened the door to come in and was asked to leave again. More people walked past us and into the store. Never asked to leave. The two people in my party shopped and bought everything they needed and myself and fiance never did get to go inside. I understand the 5 person limit under current circumstances and don't mind it being enforced, what I do mind is seeing other people come in and out shopping while I politely and patiently wait. I don't recommend this location. The mall location treated us great. Sign in the window says store...
Read moreI normally do not give GameStop a five star rating. There outdated pricing, and policy that does not allow price matching means that most times I end up purchasing from Best Buy or Target where I know I will get the best price, as they price match all major competitors, including many online retailers.
The exception for me is when I am looking for a pre-owned game, mainly because of the 7 day return policy if I'm on the fence whether it will be a good game or not. In those cases GameStop is my go to.
This location in Boyd Marketplace Ocala, is by far my favorite GameStop. The manager Pedro is the best I have ever interested with in any GameStop, and the other employees at this location are also top notch. If GameStop a a company were to update their price matching policy, I would buy all my gaming supplies exclusively at this store.
If you are looking to shop at a GameStop in the Ocala area, this should be the one you choose. Highly recommended based on Pedro...
Read moreSold my husband a “refurbished” Nintendo switch. I’m alleging they sold us a fraudulent unit. We have had it for 45 days and the charging port stopped working. Took it back to discuss options and they offered to buy it back for $30. I decided we would just get the port repaired. Upon opening the unit up…there is no way this was refurbished in any way. The first set of screws are severely corroded and show no sign of ever being removed so that the unit could be looked at and/or diagnosed. The General Manager and a man named Geo were not helpful either. The serial number has been removed, can is full of cat hair and dust. Even if you are short on cash…Walmart, target and Amazon all sell these WITH a warranty period greater...
