I wasn't going to leave a review at first but after the disrespect I encountered from who I was told was the owner over the phone it's a must ,I had family over from out of town we placed our order on one ticket but I made it clear to the cashier each meal was separate ( in the seafood bags ) they combined two of the orders together with corn and potatoes as if it was one meal but that's not what was ordered ,my nephew picked up the order not knowing he needed to check and see if every meal was bagged individually by the time he arrived back to the residence about 10 minutes away, it was 11pm closing time after calling 3 times no one answering my nephew stated the restaurant was packed with customers dining in so there was no way everyone was gone I had to call the next day about a hour after opening the young lady I spoke with wanted me to bring the meal in I asked to speak to a supervisor after she kept putting me on hold I expressed to the young lady I didn't want to express my frustration to her I would like to speak to a supervisor she put another employee on still being patience I explained and asked for a Supervisor that young lady was finally honest told me the owner expressed he didn't want to speak to me I was told hold on and was hung up on I called back upset at this point felt very disrespected the manger/ owner was very unprofessional saying he will refund me $4 because they combined to orders together and added after expressing to him the danger in putting someone order together you don't know if someone is allergic to a certain food being a individual allergic to a certain fruit or don't like the particular food the meal was for my expecting neice and he missed the whole point begin yelling saying don't say we're allergic we both had shrimp I never said anyone was allergic to shell fish and he talk over me rudely saying he will refund me the difference for combineing two of our meals once I got his silence so I could speak I made it clear I didn't want $4 refund or credit after the disrespect,I'm a huge Seafood lover I was one of the first customers when they opened ive have dined in over 10 times and carry out and doordashed just as many times also recommended many love ones when they come to Ocala,I've never encountered this disrespect as If I was wrong for my order being combined I will not be returning and hope they really get their service together so no one else gets treated...
Read moreAfter the experience I endured tonight I am more than willing to say you have lost mine and all the people with me buisness for good. After watching numerous waitresses sit around with “nothing to do” and there literate minimal customers was enough to say I he place has gone down the drain. I have been to red crab several times prior. The service use to be out of this world. Tonight proved otherwise. When asking our waitress to get us Togo bags and our checks and sitting there for over 39 mins with nothing at all was the breaking point for me to finally say something. Let’s talk about all that lead up to it. Our waitress started off by getting our drinks cool that’s what usually happens. Now let’s remember that the restaurant was dead with minimal people. Now putting in an appetizer was frustrating when it took over 30 mins just to get waitress to come back to table to do so. Appetizer finally got put in. Mind you was lightly steamed oysters. 25min later they finally come out. Not warm at all cold. More than likely from sitting for so long….ok let that slide and move on. Placing order was another 30 plus minute wait. Ok we will try I o be understanding but can’t truly be understanding when looking around and seeing restaurant almost empty and several other employees just sitting there doing nothing. Finally get order placed get food and now it’s time to go. Ask for bags and checks. 30 plus minutes and still no sign of waitress what so ever. So decide to get the attention of an employee who is standing there not doing a single thing. Let that employee know that we have had horrible service this far and would like our to go bags and checks. That employee decides to let the waitress know what was said. So said waitress decides to come out and make the statement of “here’s your horrible waitress”. Customer service far from existence in this place obviously. Now that same waitress after words were exchanged decides to say “ dont worry my daddy in his way” “ keep that same energy when he gets here” “ you probably broke anyways”. Well with all that this will be the final time me or anyone in my party will ever come back. And u will be contacting management and cordon this matter tomorrow. Can’t believe this place has gone to...
Read moreAwful. Expected a long wait on a Saturday night but not an hour and .30 min for 5 people. Staff in front unapologetic nor friendly. Got there at 6:30, they took our name and phone number and said 40 minutes. But still waited an hour (simple solution folks: when you take the name...note down the time you wrote down your party's name which these people didn't do...they just kept telling everyone who was coming in if there were 5+ 40 minutes...40 minutes....and our stretch was an hour and .30 we did NOT cop an attitude...we were just looking forward to sitting and eating) Didn't get seated until 8p. Orders weren't taken till 8:20pm. Thought: maybe short staffed but that was before we were seated and we saw plenty of empty tables and seemed they had a lot of people on staff... but all of us already hangry and their waitresses just seemed not in any rush at all or a sense of urgency with refilling drinks and "Clearing as you go" not just us but a few others around us. We didn't expect them to clear the big poofed up plastic bags for the main course, but the appetizers...etc. Food came at 9:05p --for an order supposedly placed by 8:15p? Food was not stellar, not for $135 for a Party of 4 Adults and my nephew who didn't eat anything except Fries (not a fan of seafood lol) server did her best. But a lot of money being wasted on staff innefficiency. Dungeness Crab was overcooked (meat sticking on shells is a tell, and the hard boiled eggs when you opened colored gray) overall disarray in management. One girl took about 40 minutes to clean 2 tables (for 2 big parties that just left) and that's already with the whole tearing the paper when they "set" you down. Take the paper off......clean...shouldn't have taken that long. Pay attention to your staff, money is going down the drain for you folks at the Red Crab for slow turnover, and your staff needs to ship shape with taking care of customers. Sadly, will not visit this place for a while and spend $$$...
