I’m deeply disappointed with my recent experience at Five Below. While shopping with my boyfriend, we were followed around the store by a worker in a way that felt intrusive and uncomfortable. When we got to the self-checkout, the same worker abruptly took our basket and began scanning our items for us—without asking or explaining why. What made this even more upsetting is that two other customers at nearby self-checkouts were allowed to check out on their own with no interference.
It felt like we were being singled out and profiled, and that kind of treatment is unacceptable. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of how they look. I'm all for buying at discount stores and a true believer in "you get what you pay for". Thats why this store did not disappoint me. It has a great variety of charging options for cell phones and other electronic accessories. They also carry a selection of tshirts with funny sayings/graphics on them, perfect for teenagers. At that point I wanted to just pay for my stuff and go in silence but their self checkouts aren’t do it yourself.
