The REAL DEAL NY pizza! Finally a pizzeria in CA where you can buy 1 slice if you want to (& if you're able to)! Being from NY, my husband & I are always looking for real NY pizza in CA. Well, we found it! It's an hour from where we live, but when we want a great slice or pie, an hour is not a big deal & it's well worth the drive! Plus we can take some home & put it in the freezer, because twice cooked pizza is delicious! When you walk in, you see all the delicious pies just like home... including nice size Sicilian slices!!! So what is good NY pizza? *Delicious crunchy thin crust or if Sicilian, crunchy thick, but light & airy....& crispy on the bottom for both of them! *Delicious home made marinara sauce...& *The best tasting quality mozzarella cheese! Not cheap cheese! Doesn't matter what it costs... that's what real pizza is!! I don't waste my calories on low quality pizza! NGH (NOT GONNA HAPPEN!). We also got a house salad that was a good size, fresh, colorful, delicious with real greens, not iceberg! And last but not least, we had to try the eggplant parm! It was delicious!! Sliced thin & made just right. Excellent job guys! It's hard to find properly made eggplant in CA...& at REASONABLE NY PRICES! We love this place! Why is all the food so ridiculously expensive in CA?!?! It's unbelievable!!! Also I think the last Fri of every month they make zeppoles!!! WOW! It's rare to find zeppoles in CA! We got on their text list to get a reminder!!! Can't wait to try them!!
There are many places that claim they have NY pizza, but when you ask them, they say, it's just a concept! I'm so over that. These owners are from Brooklyn & they take pride in NY & their pizza! Go to Brooklyn Boyz Pizza! It will be your new favorite place!!!
PS-loved the NY pictures on the walls! Loved the music! It's like what they play in pizzerias back home! And the owner was really friendly & appreciative!
Can't wait...
Read moreOur trips to Oceanside seem to always include at least one pizza night. Enjoying some wine with friends we got on the subject of thin crust pizza and they highly recommended we give Brooklyn Boyz Pizza a try. Saturday night, all eyes on Grandpa and with DoorDash in hand I place an order of antipasto salad, garlic knots, Canarsie Pizza and Marine Park Pizza. Preparation took some time but delivery was quick - score one for DoorDash. Order arrives and it is apparent you get a lot of food for your money. Each pie is 18 inch and the antipasto salad will feed 4 adults with ease. I try the Canarsie and Marine Park pies as well as a good helping of the antipasto salad. The antipasto salad is pretty darn fantastic. Plenty of meat and cheese and the giardiniera made the salad pop. The Marine Park pie with pepperoni, sausage and meatball was a bit over sauced and the crust was very flimsy, not crispy and almost hard to eat. It was a miss. The Canarsie white pie was also somewhat flimsy but also was overpowered by way to much ricotta cheese. If the ricotta was flavored it would have been okay but this was just the taste of ricotta and we had to scrape it off so the grandkids would finish their pie. Based on the reviews we were expecting a better outcome but unfortunately for us the pizza fell short of fabulous and was a disappointment. We have had great luck with Knockout Pizza and will more than likely gravitate back to them on future trips to visit the grandkids. Our experience with Brooklyn Boyz Pizza was like a bad date. The night started out good but everything went south as soon as we got to the good parts and unfortunately we ended with a flimsy mess. Based on this experience the best I can award Brooklyn Boyz Pizza is 3 stars. It...
Read moreHey, if you enjoyed my review or found it interesting please hit the like button and consider following me, I try to keep it interesting. Mt buddy and I sell steak, seafood and chicken in Southern California, Nevada and Arizona. Along the way we hit every dive bar, greasy spoon and off the wall habadashery we can find. I enjoy sharing them with you. Meatball sub challenge, off the top of your head can you name a spot that features a real deal meatball sub. Homemade meatballs, zangy marinara, gooey provolone and a French roll toasted so it crunches when you plunge your teeth into it; the tangy marinara hits the taste buds first then the aromatic spices flood the senses till your eyes roll back in your head. The first few bites are tentative because the molten cheese is nearly burning your mouth but you can,t stop. You ate in heaven. I know such a place, Brooklyn Boys Pizza. If I recall properly the subs weren't cheap, like eight bucks each but they are easily two meals. There is plenty of safe well lit parking and the mood is chill, next time I will eat there at the beer bar so I can try their pizza and wash it down with a chilled mug of cold barley soup (AKA beer). The store was well lit, clean and the staff was friendly and informative. I really...
