So today I had a really bad experience at this place. I drove up an hour and was there at opening till 1:24. Got some parts and it total out to nine hundred dollars. I left a headlight and a couple of rods, they were charging way too much looking for anything they could upcharge for. Nothing new I know that’s what they do so my new total was 835. Dollars. I gave the lady my card she passed the machine to me so I could sign and all of a sudden she said her computer gave her a message saying it couldn’t verify my identity and didn’t print a receipt. The long blond hair dude laughed and asked if I had a different stolen card I could pay with. Haha very funny I thought to myself but it wasn’t funny at all. I logged on to my bank app and it showed 835. Charged. The girl at the counter said I’m sorry I will have to run your card again as it didn’t go thru on my end. I’m like no I can’t run it again for 835. I said you’ll have to call your mgr. She got on the phone with someone and came back and said this happens all the time the charges will fall off in the meantime if you want the parts you’ll have to run your card again or leave the parts. I called my bank to see if the transaction could be canceled and they told me no that it was showing 835. Charge anc I’d have to wait. So I turned to the girl and asked again for a mgr. At this point I wasn’t sure what to do so I showed her my bank app showing the 835. And told her I needed my items, a receipt or speak to a manager. She told me she was the manager and that if I took the car parts it would be considered theft and quickly removed a supercharger from my cart as if I was going to run out with it!!! She said she would call the cops on me treating me like a common criminal for a mistake on their end. She also told me if I didn’t like it I could leave the parts and go shop somewhere else. Talk about mind blowing. I’m not sure if it’s bad customer service or something else. Mind you my bank app still says minus 835. What to do? I frantically tried calling tear a part salt lake to see if someone could help since they are quite nice and they know me. Anyway the girl at the counter proceeded to call the cops on me as if I’m scared of them, I’m not illegal and I had done nothing wrong except be upset over this. I drove a long way wasted gas and half my day and I was going home empty handed and with an eight hundred and thirty five dollar deficit. And all they could tell me is the charge will drop off. So the two guys who were with her were getting aggressive telling me to leave and I overheard her calling the cops I told her you are calling the cops on me for a mistake you made? The kid with the long blond hair said you obviously are not leaving since I was listening to her call the cops on me. So I ended up leaving and headed to the other store to see if they could help me. They are so nice their they contacted the mgr and he wants to meet on Tuesday. I’ve been a long time customer of salt lake about four years I can’t believe this is the way I was treated in Ogden. On my way I received a phone call from the officer asking me to call him back which I did right away and explained what transpired. So now there is an official complaint on me saying I had a problem at this location again all because of them. So tell me how would any of you feel after this? How would you handle it? Was I wrong to be upset? I’m home replaying this on my mind wondering how I could handle...
Read moreI had the worst and I mean worst experience ever in the entire world. So I usually go to Pick & Pull, but today a friend said that they would sale me my part for a 1$. So I called down there and spoke with a Blonde hair chick with glasses. Didn't even know what she was talking about on the phone at all, so she had to put me on hold 3 times to verify even what I was calling about. So while she is unprofessional yelling across the store to understand who she was talking to. They told me that they would do it so I got ready went down there and walked in signed in and went directly to the Mercury Cougar on Isle 4. Grabbed my part and started to head towards the door, so when I went to pay all of a sudden the blonde hair chick was no were to be found, what a coincidence. So as I am sitting there talking to Brown hair girl and she said that they would never say that on the phone and so she called over the Manager, at the time I didn't know that was the Manager. So his name is Shawn. Well he said that it is a set price and that they would never say that to me. So I tried to explain look this is all I have please work with me, and this is what you guys said on the phone so you should at least live up to your word. Well after I was done arguing and I mean arguing with him. I said that I wanted to talk to the Manager. He told me that he is the Manager, so I kept trying to get him to work with me so that I didn't waste my time coming down here. Because I offered a floor jack that is worth 10 times more than the Coolant Overflow Tank. So he told me that he wasn't going to lose his job over 1$. You won't man for real. So I told him before I was finally leaving to go find the Boss so that I could talk to him. Since I didn't have the money and he took the part that I was trying to get and threw it in some bin and he threw it hard. So when I seen him standing on the stairs I asked if he was the boss and he told me yes. So I explained to him about the whole situation, and told him that I had a floor jack in my car I was willing to give to him for the part and he told me sorry we can't do trades well I told him that I would be back for the part but I didn't want it to be in that bin because I need the part for my car. So then he put it behind the counter and I left. So about a hour later I had talked to a friend of mine and was willing to help me by paying for the part but the only problem was she was in Salt Lake City and was willing to pay for it so I called and talk to Shawn again and asked if I could pay for it by phone with her debit card, he said that they cant accept it over the phone and that they had to see the card it self. So I finally ended up going and pawning my welders helmet that I had to pay for the part. So then I went back and paid for the part and took the part and left. and my car was over heating so bad I was speeding trying to get home and ended up getting pulled over and getting a ticket and now I have to deal with legal issues, So I see that this has happened numerous times to others, because there is another review just like mine and this is not professional at all. So I wouldn't recommend getting any parts from this place at all. So if they would have just kept what they said on the phone none of all this other things would have happened. Thank you and my day...
Read moreTear a Part Ogden Bought a Hood that was supposed to be interchangeable with my make and model of car according to a printout obtained by the tear-a-part staff. When checking out the cashier asks do you want a warranty? Definition of warranty according to Merriam-Webster: Definition of WARRANTY plural warranties 1a: a real covenant binding the grantor of an estate and the grantor's heirs to warrant and defend the title b : a collateral undertaking that a fact regarding the subject of a contract is or will be as it is expressly or by implication declared or promised to be 2: something that authorizes, sanctions, supports, or justifies: WARRANT 3: a usually written guarantee of the integrity of a product and of the maker's responsibility for the repair or replacement of defective parts Of course knowing the definition of warranty and figured they charge for said warranty, so we declined the offer. When we realized not all parts interchange equally, we found the receipt. The receipt clearly states that you can return your items within 30 days for a refund. When we arrived back at the business to exchange the hood for another they said they would not honor the 30 day refund because we did not get the warranty. Warranty is for the repair or replacement of defective parts, there was nothing wrong with the part and it was not defective. They refused to explain why they require a “warranty” to allow a customer to return items, only stating that “some people get upset when we warranty their purchases, so we have to ask each customer.” That doesn’t even make any sense. So I asked them, “How much does the “warranty” cost?” they replied, “It’s free”. If it’s free shouldn’t you give it to all of your customers or get rid of it all together, well unless you are intentionally trying to rip off your customer. So they use the term “Warranty” without explaining that without it, it prevents you from returning anything no matter what the receipt says. Once the offer for “Warranty” is denied they stamp the top of your receipt with a red hard to read ink stamp. Knowing that most reasonable people would identify the term “Warranty” as an up sale on products that are being purchased in case the products are defective and knowing that most reasonable people will decline a warranty so they don’t have to exchange or refund anything. In this case we still needed a hood that was the correct size. So I am out the money on the first hood because of their predatory practices, and am forced to purchase a second hood. So through their deceptive way of doing business they doubled their sales to me. People that use these types of places usually can’t afford to buy new parts but need to keep their cars running. So Tear-a-Parts policy is just another way to take advantage of their customer. They may have ripped me off, but I won’t take it...
