Lived in Oklahoma my whole life I've been to the fair so many times I cannot count. The fair seems to go in waves of good and bad... Any place you have a large amount of people there's going to be issues. So I like to judge places like that fairly. 20 years ago it was dirty The Carneys were tacky people that would haggle you, and some of the workers were pretty rude, and you didn't see a lot of security... It's a lot cleaner than it was before (trash cans could be emptied more often) it looks more professional. The food has always been good! The ferris wheel is awesome! It's a bit redundant how things are set up around the buildings. It needs a little more pizzazz. The buildings and the bathrooms were clean and professional looking. People working there were very nice. And you see more security now. Getting in and out of the parking lot has always been an issue but that's a lot of people in one parking lot. The barns are nice as well. Unfortunately in this day and age security has to be hyped up a little bit more pertaining to the outer perimeter. Once you're on the outside you're on your own no security to be seen. Which means you don't have a lot of people watching the fences around the outer perimeter. A few people set off the metal detectors...One Man apparently told the people working there that he had a belt buckle that was setting it off and they let him go and did not wand him. I even saw people walking around the metal detecting post. (Security)They do their best but when there's a flood of people coming through it's nearly impossible for four or five people to keep up with a large crowd like that with strollers etc. The only problem with improvements...it always costs money. The fair is expensive already. It's a huge area it takes tons of people to...

I recently had the pleasure of attending the Oklahoma State Fair at the OKC Fairgrounds, and it was an unforgettable experience! The moment we arrived, the vibrant atmosphere set the tone for a fun-filled day.
First and foremost, the food was absolutely amazing! From classic fair favorites like funnel cakes and corn dogs to some unique culinary offerings, there was something to satisfy every craving. I indulged in a few different dishes, and each one was delicious. The variety of options makes it hard to resist trying a little bit of everything!
We spent hours exploring the exhibit halls and car shows, which were both engaging and entertaining. There was so much to see, and the displays were well-organized, keeping us captivated throughout our visit. The car shows, in particular, showcased some stunning vehicles that car enthusiasts would appreciate.
One of the highlights of the fair was taking a ride on the giant Ferris wheel at sunset. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and it created such a romantic atmosphere as the sun dipped below the horizon. It was a perfect moment to share with loved ones, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting.
Given the heat that day, we opted to stay indoors for much of our visit. Thankfully, the fairgrounds have plenty of indoor activities to keep you cool while still enjoying the festivities. The live music added to the lively ambiance, with talented performers that kept spirits high and provided a great backdrop as we moved around.
Overall, my visit to the OKC Fairgrounds for the state fair was a fantastic experience. With amazing food, engaging exhibits, and a romantic Ferris wheel ride, it truly had something for everyone. I canโt wait to return next year for another...
ย ย ย Read moreI went to the fair with my family we haven't been in years we decided to go thinking we would enjoy are selfs think again. Food was very expensive and rides cost so much. I spent 150.00 on cards and only got to ride 2 rides we went Saturday of the shooting it was a nightmare! When the shoot happened I hear round of gun shots we were on a ride it was 9:01 when it happened. The guy that run the ride wouldn't let us off we saw the crowd of people running for their life it was insane ๐ณ like off a movie. We finally got off the stupid ride and met up with the family and got them to safty. We ran to an exit and it started again. It sounded like. We took off running to the parking lot to our car and got away safe. All my family small kids had panic attacks. It was so scary. My family won't be going to the fair anytime soon. I definitely think we should be refunded for the funds we didn't spend. I know this doesn't matter to some but people who really couldn't afford this in the first place but you do activities to make your kids happy you do it. And freak accidents do happen though. I'm glad everyone is safe though. And good job to the cops who helped it get it under control. Please make security better ๐ so family's won't be afraid going to the State Fair. Be better do better! The mass mob of people was crazy nightmare! You should also make a public comment about when you had the situation unconditional so public can know and not go...
