This little park has a lot to offer. The small parking lot can fill up pretty fast so sometimes you'll have to find parking along the street. Immediately you are looking directly at the waterfront. To your left there is a wooden walkway, to the right there is a paved walkway, in the center there is some benches with checkers/chess boards on them, and behind you there is a basketball court. The wooden walkway has a few spots with benches so you can soak in the view of the landscape. Along with this, there are three jetty's that you can walk out on (and fish). If you go all the way to the end of the walkway, you come to a paved path and it ends up at the other end of the park. There is a satellite police station there and a beach to soak in the sun or just mosey about. Going back to the other side of the park, the path is paved and in the beginning there is a decently-sized playground and a gazebo near the end. If you keep going past the gazebo you will come out to the other beach. This one isn't as nice, but it's great to get away from the other people there. It's also full of rocks and washed up items. It's a great little park.
I should mention that you should not go in the water. It has elevated...
Read more04.21.2019 I certainly enjoy my time sp weent in Old Bridge Township, especially during the holiday seasons. The reason why I gave the area a "3 star" rating is because of the repairs still needed after the storms. The clean up time is upon us and we are ready for a beautiful summer. There is quite a bit of debri and rotted trees, cans and bottles around. I've been reviewing the entire area for some time now and the Renew New Jersey project after Hurricaine Sandy. However, I believe the park is worth having a "Community Spring Clean Up Day" to celebrate the work that has been done to date and to continue working on the conditions of the sand with the maintenance teams. The bathroom building is hopefully and prayerfully being upgraded to anticipate the traffic for the summer. There is only one "porter John" as far as I can tell. New Jersey, yes, Lawrence Harbor in Old Bridge is a wonderful place to relax with family, friends, go fishing, read, eat, walk, enjoy the bike trail, walk the dog, play basketball, play tennis and just enjoy the view of the water....
Read moreExcellent place with a wonderful ocean & Bay view. The best grade of sand for running, jogging HIIT & yoga... due to the extremely high count of large, medium & small stones, rocks, pebbles, broken glass & bricks. The worst place for barefoot walking on the sand & in the water... due to the same... broken glass, broken bricks, broken shells, rocks, stones & pebbles. In addition to that, you really want to avoid contact with the water... At low tide, black sludge can be seen along the rock strown shoreline. It is remnants of the chemical & sewage waste from over a decade ago. (Maybe longer. I've only visited almost daily for eleven years). I never enter the water. However this is one of my second favorite hometowns. I'm there very frequently to run. The boardwalk there is the best place to run. It's very long and with the fresh air, peaceful people & safe environment, it is supremely ideal for various types of recreation. Pet animals are allowed along the boardwalk & pier. There are poop plastic bags there for clean as well. This place is just as good as...
