Excellent safe place to run year round. Running & walking here for 11 years. Not advisable to enter the ocean, broken shells, broken glass, rocks, stones, pebbles, sticky burrs, driftwood & other brickbrack materials are spread in abundance along the coastline. The sand is also super perfect for running, as it is densly packed with stones & seashells. Right alongside the water is the best running path. Stay on the boardwalk or along the coastline at night... Don't walk amongst the bushes, skunks hang out in that domain. The place feels very safe even at night. Hint Tip : DO NOT ENTER NJ's COASTLINE UNTIL SANDY HOOK, SEA BRIGHT, BELMAR ~ WILDWOOD & Cape May. I've been to 98% of all Jersey's beaches (including the hidden ones) so take it from me, the best quality of walkable sand starts in Sandy Hook then continues down to Cape May. Read moreLawrence Harbor waterfront Park is nice and clean. Boardwalk is well maintained with a great view of NY. There's a renovated playground. Most of the beach is fenced off and all for a good reason - lead, mercury and other poisonous chemical contamination. So please, stay away from the sand and water. There are lots of bunnies and birds. If you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of sea turtles...
