I don’t recommend buying plants or anything that may require customer service at some point. We found them Jan of 2024 when they were the only nursery we could get to before closing after leaving the vet with one of our beloved pets who had to be put down. We wanted to bury her in a special garden with a special plant. We found some beautiful hardy cyclamen and purchased 14 of them after the employee assured us they were a perennial in our area. We spent nearly $200 and planted them to mark this special place in our yard. Wouldn’t you know, no sign of them sprouted this winter like we were told to expect. I have sent four professional messages to their business email since January with no response. Shameful but not surprising. We went in last spring with another plant that we had purchased that same night, a guava plant, that had something wrong with it. As soon as they saw me they berated me for bringing it inside and had the nerve to treat me as if I was doing something horrible. They acted like a stuck-up group of teenagers, when this plant that had something wrong with it had COME FROM THEIR NURSERY AND INTO MY HOME! If anything, I AM the one who should have been treating them poorly for selling me a diseased plant. But, I wasn’t as angry with them then as I am now, knowing that NOTHING they sold has survived. If you are a fan of throwing away money and having poor customer service, this is your place…
Update to owners response:
Thank you for your response, but sad that it took an honest google review to get it. I will not be stepping foot in your business ever again however, not when there are better options all around. I have searched for an email response for months and Gmail makes it pretty easy to locate. If you had actually responded to my email it would be in the string of emails that I’ve sent you. I know technology isn’t always perfect but there is no response from you either Feb 3rd or Mar 17th. My original review...
Read moreThis place is an absolute hidden treasure. The selection is absolutely insanely good. The staff are all friendly, kind, and beyond knowledgeable. This place has the best selection of chicks around. Their fruit trees and bushes selection is the best I’ve seen from a smaller in town store like this.
They have everything and anything when it comes to homesteading and hobbies. Everything!
When my crunchy friends come to visit from out of town I will actually sometimes take them past this store because I talk about it so much and there is almost anything for everyone that’s into outside/naturey hobbies.
Protect this place and their employees at all costs! It’s the absolute best!
Some stuff will be a bit more expensive than on Amazon but they make sure its great quality stuff.
Just an example, I bought a heavy duty hose from them because I went through 2 Home Depot hoses and they kept kinking and blocking flow. The one I bought from this store has out lived the other two and is still going strong with no signs of giving out. Same goes with the fabric pots for growing. I had some cheap ones on Amazon that lasted a few grows and then had to get new ones. I’m only two grows into the fabric pots that I bought here but dear lord do they still almost look like new and the plants in them are almost twice as big as the other pots. If I wasn’t a true believer before, I sure am now!

Read moreI got into gardening earlier this year, and EUF&G has been my go to store; I'm there at least once a week, and I live 40 minutes away. Well worth the drive and the I5 traffic.
I started with gardening, buying NON GMO plants and seeds (their selection is amaziiiiing) mostly seeds from local sources (don't get me started on the wonderful seed exchange they have--go see yourself), soil, soil amendments, you name it.
Then I got into chicken keeping and they supply everything for that too: chickens, feed, tons of poultry supplies, etc etc.
If you go upstairs, you'll find a ton of DIY supplies for bee keepers, soap making, canning, and so much more.
What drew me to them in the first place is that it isn't a big box store, it's small, homey, the staff is full of smiles, they're knowledgeable, engaging, enthusiastic, and above all helpful. They carefully source their products, and I can't explain how much I greatly appreciate that because I'm always searching for products that are as natural as possible. They even supply feed from my hometown two states away, so I always get that sense of home when I see the Modesto Mills products--though this is a more personal thing and most can't relate haha.
I love this store. Absolutely love it, and I recommend it to anybody who wants to listen. I've been to tons of farm and garden stores in my search for a supplier for my farm and garden hobbies, and Eastside Urban is without a doubt my...
