When we arrived, we were treated very nicely and respectfully. The nurses and staff saw my husband right away. We were taken to a room very quickly in the ER. And Ronny was being taken care of. We had been there a long time and they came and told us they had to move us to a different room in the ER and they’re gonna keep him overnight for observation. The very next morning they moved him again before I had gotten to the hospital.. He was still in the emergency room, just another room in the emergency room. Up to this point we had been treated very nicely and respectfully. This time, however, we had a nurse that seemed to be too busy to actually care about what was going on. She was short in her points and rude in her tone and came and went to and our room as quickly as she could. At this point, we had already waited over 24 hours to have an MRI. They tell us that it is because he has a pacemaker, but the pacemaker was cleared the second morning of the hospital. Yet we spent another night at the hospital and another day at the hospital and five minutes after I left to go pick up kids from school They called him to have his MRI done. Ronny has had a lot of MRIs Throughout his time here in Omaha. He has learned that he can do the MRI without being tied down or his head tied down or a mask put on him. Due to the fact of what was going on with him, he was unable to tell the radiologist that he just needed to not have anything attached to his head and then he can go to have the MRI. His explanation came off wrong, and the radiologist or person who was doing the MRI became short with him and kind of smart Alec.. Had I been there? I could have kept him calm and explained what he was trying to explain. This is a fact that should have been in his chart. We felt that he could take the MRI, but he cannot have his head tied Or a mask on his face, he is too claustrophobic. Long story short, he ended up not being able to do the MRI at all, and we were promptly discharged from the hospital or from ER because we were never admitted Period. The other problems we encountered just simply that the hospital ER seems very dirty to us and did not feel that it was clean. Ronny would walk to his bathroom and back and I would have to clean the bottoms of his feet. There was somebody sweeping a lot, but it just was dirty and when he would have to go to the bathroom for to give specimen or to just go to the bathroom, we would have to clean the toilet before he could sit on it because of blood or feces or something like that on the lid. There was many times when he asked for something cold to drink like a sprite or a star and he just simply want an ice in it and never get ice in his drink. Finally, one day I had to go out and I said can we just get a cup of ice she brought a cup of ice, but why she couldn’t put that in his drink or for his Soda I don’t know, but we were there the whole time and he never got a cup of ice until I said, just give us a cup of ice. We didn’t feel like we were made to feel welcome there. It was hard sitting there waiting on an MRI and other whatever test they were to do and never speaking to a doctor until except for the first day Still confused about what was really going on why these things keep happening because the...

I was blessed too have These amazing Drs who did the initial surgery and a different Dr did this procedure to reconstruct my intestine….. I have worked throughout the United States In my humble opinion i was the most fortunate person to have the surgery This office of Drs saved my life…. I’m a veteran and all I can say is the VA ER room did not properly diagnose me I went to the ER seven times five days after my last ER at the VA is when I lapsed into a coma…. I was very fortunate that protocol was to take me to Immanuel Hospital…That evening The ER surgeon was and is still affiliated with CHI BERGEN MERCY Drs group on the 2000 suite in the CHI New Building…..My experience was an excellent result directly due to the Dr who was the attending Physician at Immanuel Hospital…. I was graced by My Lord…..I have the upmost respect and confidence with these Drs in suite 2000 …It’s been a year since my initial surgery in the ER….No matter any person’s affiliation with any type of Faith Agnostic or Atheist…. I personally and profoundly respect and I will not go back to the VA….The Drs at the VA are like the luck of the draw…. I have great amazing Drs at the VA unfortunately there are Drs physicians whatever who are completely Misinformed or they are not able to practice at any other medical institution in Omaha Ne….If you are in a serious medical emergency the only thing I can say is these Amazingly skilled and competent and caring physicians is who I would will always refer anyone I know to seek treatment at CHI BERGEN MERCY the rest of the staff were excellent and caring RN LPN’s I will and always refer anyone I know in the community to seek The best Surgeons in the entire vicinity….This is my result and I just had to post my experience and the Excellent Surgeons Nurses the entire staff for any individual to seek this Amazing Kind and Professional Service’s and the staff are second to NONE….. Read moreI was an out of state patient that was planning to come to CHI Bergan Mercy for two surgeries to help with a disease that causes immense pain. CHI Bergan Mercy was out of network with my insurance but was willing to pursue getting an out of network exception/prior authorization so I could receive care with them and have my insurance billed. I had been scheduled for surgery to be end of Jan. of 2025 and when CHI didn't submit the proper approval forms in time (despite my many frequent reminders to start early because the process can take a while), they let me know the day before I was supposed to leave for Omaha that we needed to reschedule because they hadn't done it yet. We rescheduled to the end of April 2025. In that time they did get an out of network exception but could not clarify if it was for one surgery or for both surgeries. In this process it came apparent that their anesthesia may be provided by an outside company (thus billed separately and needing a separate out of network exception with my insurance). Despite continual attempts with different staff members, no one could tell me who was actually providing anesthesia services nor if it was billed under CHI Bergan Mercy's NPI # (which means it would NOT need an out of network exception and all was good to go for that concern). Even the manager who said the dept. that bills for anesthesia is under her management, could not get me these answers. At the very least I asked for a cost quote for anesthesia services so I could know if the cost for anesthesia was something I could afford if it was denied by insurance. No one was able to get me that either, despite asking multiple CHI staff. CHI staff gave me wrong numbers to call many times, even to outside companies that were not connected to CHI or even healthcare. Many times staff would contradict each other in the information they gave me. Many times they said they would look into information for me, get the answers I needed, and then never call me back. My insurance was even willing to call CHI for me to try to get answers and CHI staff never answered or called them back. Often, I would just be transferred back and forth to different departments because no one knew the answers to these questions. I also tried leaving a message on the patient concern action line. Even with this, no one returned my phone call. It came very close to my new surgery dates again and I was forced to cancel my surgeries because CHI Bergan Mercy didn't take care of these issues. I'm disappointed because I do believe the surgeon was good and the surgery could have helped me immensely and the anesthesia billing question should not have been that hard to answer. I am astounded at how a hospital could be so negligent, disrespectful and disorganized. I'm astounded that CHI doesn't even have the procedures in place to give patients a cost quote for anesthesia services, despite the federal law (The No Surprises Act) that requires healthcare providers to do so. If CHI is willing to accept patients that are out of network with their insurance, then they need to have processes and procedures in place to support them with their unique situation. In my experience, CHI has none of...
