My Mom and I took our dogs to dog day afternoon for the weekend of my wedding, also a holiday. I have two dogs and she has one. Skye is 6, Himes will be 5 and Carter turned 2 (while at Dog Day). This was the first time we had to board any of our dogs. I was openly nervous, but the employees put my mind at ease. When we dropped off the dogs everyone was so kind and helpful. I actually got a report card shortly after dropping them off showing the 3 dogs together outside! (Himes is a "little," while Skye and Carter are "bigs," so we knew they wouldn't have much time together) The dogs were dropped off 12/30 & Carter's birthday is 12/31. I got another report card Saturday and they were given ice cream (a service we asked for and is extra $) and they thoughtfully put balloons in his suite!! December 31st was my wedding day and there is no better gift than seeing my dogs happy. We picked the dogs up 1/1 and they were in good health, no concerns and well taken care of.
I write such a detailed review about my experience because I understand how important it is knowing your dog is in the hands of people who care. Dog Day Afternoon helped me tremendously on the most important day. Thank you! If ever we have to board again, we will...
Read moreWe've been using Dog Day Afternoon off and on for years. For our dogs who are suited to group play, they love going. When we are in route and turn onto the road our dogs start jumping around the car and basicly drag us into thier facility. Everyone has always been very nice, transparent if any dogs are every ill, and it's evident that they genuinely care about our dogs. Our most recent addition, Oakley, didn't pass the group play test 6 months ago....it's good to know that they have a standard and only welcome dogs that fit in before they participate in group play. We have been working with Oakley and reintroduced him yesterday and he passsed. He was so happy when he came home and he was beat. Several years ago, we had a Bassett Hound that had all kinds of medical issues. When we had to travel, they would take care of him along with his brother Oliver. While we were traveling, Rocco took a turn for the worst. We had to come home and let him go. They were so kind, empathetic, and dealt with Rocco buy getting him to the speciality medical center and taking care of him until we could get back. We will always be grateful for thier warmth and kindness. This place has heart......dont hesitate...
Read moreOver the last few months, Peanut & Butter 11 month odd Toy Fox Terriers love this place.
They have had half day and overnight stays with no problems.
We enjoy the report cards pictures, pool time and the interaction these folks have with Peanut & Butter.
Every one I have encountered, seems to be genuinely involved with caring for your extended family.
Update, during the Pandemic we had changed up our traveling but had purchased a 10 day overnight private package before all stop. 2020 was was different, and had spoken with Management about time frame and how it wasn't ideal to travel. So they extended the 1 year to use for another 6mo, but the virus wasn't done. Things have changed 9/25 so I figured let's see if we can work something out, now I have 3 toys and am looking for a 5 night visit, can we entertain 5 nights at Full price as of today for 2 and have my 3rd for free ? No ! Wow, 450.00 and a Pandemic and I have gotten nothing in return, a dog toy ? NO. I understand things happen and I guess Ive waited to long for small claims, but I had misunderstood how we all can work with each other in trying times. Thanks DDA for going the...
