Attended a wedding and reception here in February 2018. It was a beautiful setting. Probably more fitting for smaller weddings, maybe a max around 70'ish (but one should confirm). Wedding ceremony was outside (where the guests sit is not covered) and there is a beautiful covered gazebo where the bride and groom stood for most of the ceremony. There's an area just beyond the gazebo where there was a bar setup; this is where we went after the ceremony. Again, outdoors, not covered. While we were in this space, the staff quickly removed the chairs and other items from where the ceremony was and this became the dance floor after dinner. After drinks, we went inside for dinner. The dining room is beautiful, but again, quaint and kind of small. The bride and groom table was a small table in the front of the main dining room. There are sections of the dining room that curve around corners so not line-of-sight to where the bride and groom were sitting There was a separate room that accommodates a buffet table, just a short walk down the hallway from the dining room. There was a small table next to the bride/grrom table where they had the wedding cake. Just outside the dining room is a covered deck where the DJ was. After dinner and the cake-cutting, many people went outside to dance in the space where the chairs were for the ceremony. If you're looking for a quaint place for a small party where the entire event can be held (ceremony, reception, etc.), Dr. Phillips House just might be the place for you. Additional note: it was my understanding that the bride and groom also spent the night at the house, as well. The only downside I noticed in having a wedding here is due to its location, it is right under the 408 expressway, you will hear cars. It wasn't necessarily obnoxious but it can draw your attention away momentarily. Make sure there's a microphone and it's turned up and it should be fine. Of course the rest of the night we didn't hear any of that over the...
Read moreOur daughter was recently married at this venue, and we have nothing but praise for Angie and all the Millenia staff. They went above and beyond to accommodate us as we live out of town and our daughter was living out of state at the time. Multiple visits to the house for measurements and decorating ideas were never a problem.
Our daughter did not want a big empty banquet hall, she was looking for something intimate, romantic, eclectic and whimsical... Dr. Phillips House fit the bill. From the lion statues on the brick front steps leading to the front door of the stately mansion, to the antique decorated rooms, spacious upstairs bedrooms, dining areas, and out to the gardens, fountains and gazebo... this is the "perfect place for a wedding". Something that was repeated by numerous guests throughout the evening.
Angie and our wedding coordinator, Sherri Rinker, worked amazingly well together... like best friends! They both gave us great advise and made the whole process easy and fun... it couldn't have gone any better! The food was delicious... Leelee and all the catering staff were amazing, they seemed to enjoy the wedding as much as we did!
Special thanks to... Amber with Laura Reynolds Hair and Make Up... the bride was beautiful for her special day! Glynn Ferguson, the officiant with Sensational Ceremonies... personable, funny and well organized! Tony with Four Seasons Florist... beautiful bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres and flowers on the cake! Corner House Photography... for the awesome pictures to provide a lifetime of memories! David Regueiro with Soundwave Entertainment... the guests would have danced all night if they could! Finally, Dominick and Ayanna with Domi Italian Ice... for a yummy cool treat that...
Read moreMy wife & I got married at the Doctor Phillips House this month on February 21st. We had a small wedding with approx. 45 guests and this location was perfect for us. The house has 6 bedrooms and we rented all 6 rooms for the night of our wedding with most of our wedding party and family staying in the rooms.
This house is an amazing venue location to host a wedding. When we first started looking for places to get married this was the 1st location we toured & we instantly fell in love with it.
The catering staff on the night of our wedding was phenomenal! The food was amazing, as well as the hors d’oeuvres during our cocktail hour.
We want to give a special thank you to Sally as well as the entire catering team that was there. Sally was our captain & she made sure that we had everything we needed that night.
Amanda our bartender was fantastic as well. Also thank you to ce ce, Steve, and Jarret the serving staff. They went above and beyond and were very friendly and attentive.
We could not have asked for a more perfect wedding day, everything was perfect and we would highly recommend this location!
A big thank you as well to Angie for everything! She helped us through the entire process. Planning a wedding in the middle of a pandemic is hard enough but Angie was there from start to finish.
