My wife and I visited the Altamonte Springs, FL location on Christmas Eve. We found ourselves dining out and quite literally had the most disgusting meal we've ever had in a restaurant.
My wife found black specks of God only knows what in her lemonade, so we pointed it out the the waitress. The waitress said, "I don't see it but I'll grab a new one." She didn't see it because she wasn't looking when I directed her attention to it... Non-caring attitude, no apology. The waitress was scarce until we ordered our dinner. We shared the meal pictured which was recommended by the waitress. Once it arrived, I immediately noticed the lobster tail and pieces of Lobster in the Mac and Cheese tasted like BLEACH. I immediately became nauseous and questioned our decision to dine at Red Lobster. Just after my noticing the very bizarre and concerning flavor, I notice my wife pulling something out of her mouth after taking a bite of her crab cake.
The image you see is a STRIP OF PLASTIC. Quite large in size. Shocked at all of this horrible service and quality, I asked to speak with the manager, who I later found out is named Brent. Brent's demeanor was wildly inappropriate and as a customer who has experienced the above, I found it unacceptable. He wore a compassionless smirk and acted like none of this was a big deal. He casually said he would take it off the bill and walked away.
I found myself further nauseated and was not able to finish anything but the broccoli and mashed potatoes. My wife was disgusted, disappointed, and shaken up by finding this substantial piece of plastic in her food and having a) eaten plenty of lobster before and b) dined at Red Lobster enough times to know that BLEACH is not what you expect when you bite into a lobster tail. My PREGNANT wife almost ingested a large strip of plastic in her food and consumed what my research dictates SPOILED LOBSTER MEAT.
When our waitress returned, I told her I wanted the name and contact information for the district manager. She came back and said Brent would be coming back out to speak with me. After almost 10 minutes, I got up and looked for HIM as it was evident he either had no plan to come to our table after I requested this information or he just forgot. Either way, I requested the information from him directly. He went into the kitchen and made me wait another 5 minutes or so before coming out with an index card with district manager, Carl Schiner's information. I've called Carl and have not yet received a response.
From start to finish, this was an experience which has eliminated us from ever being patrons at Red Lobster again. I will never step foot in another of your restaurants and I will be passing this along to all of my friends, family, and colleagues, along with my social media networks. We have plenty of choices as consumers and will not allow ourselves to be treated like this ever again.
For the sake of those who plan to dine here, I would recommend RL do a full investigation of this location as these people have represented your brand in such a way you have lost our business forever as well as those I will inform.
Christmas Eve ruined. Shame on...
Read moreSo new CEO. First of all you're young. Got it. However, people even in their 20's loved the original tarter.
This isn't coke where they had to go and do New Coke and Original Coke. No.
So, you personally wiped out a Red Lobster staple. Proud of yourself? I do not ever care if there is an all you can eat anything but I do absolutely care about FLAVOR. As a lot of people do.
Honestly, get rid of crab legs they're usually over cooked and dried out. They taste like a strong ammonia flavor. Haven't had any in years there. Gee I don't even care for the shrimp its always lacking some flavor.
However, never mess with the biscuits you will sink Red Lobster. Also, to me personally, the fact that you did not care about one soul saying bring back the old recipe. I heard the most ridiculous thing... the items for the recipe... what is the carrots, sweet dill relish, sugar, onions and mayo just too much for Red Lobster to handle? Maybe its the you and the other was it just too many ingredients? The staff complained?!?!... They want less work after all I mean honestly most of us do but I mean how difficult is it to make the original tarter sauce. Was Red Lobster importing from another country? No? Since servers say Red Lobster locations would make it daily.
Do you even know that people have been trying to copycat that recipe for over 13 years? I mean I know you were just a mere 22 but.... does that really mean you are in touch with what people really want?
No. You know what "you" think is best. What you think will be hip and cool. Probably in line with the fact that you look like a very fit man. So, everyone must be you and eat what you want. Dear CEO if you want these people fit... then just let Red Lobster tank.
I got a Lobster roll the other day. I wanted to complain as it tasted like ammonia... What did I want? Fish with the original tarter. My husband is 4 years older than you and he disagrees with your decision.
He and his entire family fish... he really really loved that tarter. I was not a fish person until him.
There are some options of course: Bring back the original. Share the original recipe with all the ingredients. Stop selling fried fish. Leave Red Lobster and go be the CEO of Panera Bread they're over priced hip food all bougie but with gross cookies enough to break a tooth over... so that should encourage others to eat more healthy. All the above.
I heard there was new tarter when we went two hours away for emergency pet services.... but I tasted it and went for that equally disgusting lobster roll. I have yet to have a good lobster claw.
Why do you need two different lobsters? Just have Maine Lobster and if you're one of the restaurants that get your seafood from another country other than Canada quit doing that.
I've had it with all...
