Let me begin by saying that I LOVE floating. It has been therapeutically very helpful for me. I've done probably about 20 total floats now at 3 different locations over the last year. The majority being done at East Coast Floats. For me, the total sensory loss has proven to be an amazing treatment for my anxiety. I go for a float and my brain resets, drops me out of that constant fight or flight mode and I am then the old "anxiety-free me" for about a week. Over the last year I've used floating to help me deal with some pretty horrible dental anxiety. I go for an hour long float the night before a dental appointment and it has helped me to get some massive work completed and I'm now to the point where I don't even need the gas when I go to the dentist. That is a huge deal. And best of all I've been able to do it without any anxiety medication. Not to mention how amazing it makes my body feel. The magnesium in the water gives my joints exactly what they need. I love floating so much, I've considered selling my house and buying a bigger one so I'd have room for a tank. And I've had some really amazing experiences at East Coast Floats, that is kind of why I put off writing this review for so long. I believe in the industry and I want to see this business and others in the market flourish. But my last experience really rubbed me the wrong way and I want to offer just a bit of constructive criticism. Over my year history with East Coast I've had a few technical issues, it's to be expected, and I have always been very understanding. And the management has been nice to offer discounts/free benefits when things do go totally wrong. I scheduled my longest float ever last week. A 2.5 hour float. I had not had one in months and was really looking forward to it. Because floating is such a new industry I unfortunately don't live close to ECF and have to deal with a 1.5 to 2 hour drive each way. So this particular float had me committing over 6 hours of time. I arrived, showered and entered the tank as normal. In each room there is a motion activated light that goes off a bit after you close the lid. It also triggers the exhaust fan over the shower. Evidently the motion detector's sensitivity needs to be adjusted because every time the ac would kick on it would make the shower curtain move and thus trigger the light and fan. Both very visible and audible from inside the tank. The entire reason I do these floats is for the sensory deprivation. And I did not get this out of my longest, most expensive, most needed float ever. I alerted the attendant of the light malfunction when I got out and instead of offering a simple "I'm sorry" and promising to get the technical issue resolved. She instead told me that it was an ongoing issue and you just have to push the curtains further back. I thought about writing this review as soon as I got home but decided to take several days to "cool off". In that time, I actually got emailed a survey from ECF about my last float. So I decided this would be a much better way to address the issue, answered it and told them about my experience. I then got a voice mail from one of the employees later letting me know she was sorry about my experience and telling me they had noted my account to never put me in Room 1 again. Instead of fixing the problem. So I guess the situation resolved for me but how does it help any other person that gets put in that room? Just fix the light! I desperately want your business to succeed. But this isn't how you do customer service. A simple "I'm sorry" can go SO far. But nearly every time I've had an issue I never get anything resembling an actual apology (and I have emails that prove this). I get an explanation (usually blaming the computer system) but little else. Please take this review in the spirit it was intended and fix the issues so that other people can get the same amazing help I have gotten...
Read moreThis was absolutely one of the coolest experiences I've had in my life. However, watch the videos and know what you're getting into ahead of time! It's important to know exactly what is going to happen and what to expect.. and I can tell you about that. Arrive 10/15 minutes early, and you'll be escorted by an employee to a hallway with several doors leading to soundproof rooms with the pods. The rooms are dope - cool blue lights, ambient music, very private, serene, and safe feelings. You get to pick whether you want lights and music or neither - they recommend your first float to be "pure" with no music or lights. I tried to play my own music, but then I got into it and realized the point is to TOTALLY unplug mentally and physically. So, you shower up and the get the pod. The pod is bigger and more spacious than I thought. You can float with lid open or closed, which is nice if your claustrophobic. The water was a great temp and I never felt cold or hot entire 60 minutes. The first 5 minutes there is coop, ambient sounds and lights and then it all fades to black, and you're in weighlessness. It felt like I had died, and just my consciousness was left honestly 😂 I focused on breathing and meditating, but my mind ran. I never felt bored or stressed or anxious (until I tried to float on my belly. Don't do that. Just don't) The 60 minutes flew by. The post shower was incredible. And I walked out feeling literally like a new person mentally and physically just.. calm. I can't wait to go again and highly recommend to anyone looking for a mental and physical escape! I paid $60 with a referral code and first time float. Easy to find and lots of parking out front. This is my referral code here (jk-605061). Feel free to use that for your first float and get 25% off like I did! Employees were really kind and...
Read moreYou're supposed to offer a service and environment that promotes relaxation and rehabilitation. I haven't even floated yet and I've gotten the WORST customer service experience.
Your "polite" young adult staff, Hanna & Jose, threatened to charge me additional charges yesterday because I didn't come earlier to do a 30 minute orientation (which, by the way, is not listed on the website or any of your pathetic marketing materials). So, how are the clients supposed to know?
I left the facility then came back after a few minutes and saw Hanna getting ready for a float session (supposed to have been my slot). Also, I saw another client waiting in the lobby while Hanna was walking around the front desk to look at the schedules. What happened to prioritizing the customers?
Hanna was very unempathetic and unprofessional. Your staff freely steal client appointments. I'm extremely disappointed with how you and your staff handle the business.
• I will be voicing to others as well as writing a Google review to stay away from East Coast Floats in Baldwin Orlando.
• I will also push a complaint at the Better Business Bureau listed for this business.
• I will also be calling/writing a complaint to the Baldwin Park Residential Owners Association.
Again, you're supposed to offer a service and environment that promotes relaxation and rehabilitation. However, I felt unwelcomed and given aggression. I haven't even floated yet and I've gotten the WORST customer...
