Being an amateur radio operator, this little museum piqued my interest when I discovered it on the map. I was not disappointed! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, but explained the concepts and operations in a very easy to understand way. It's an amazing place if you have any interest in telecommunications, science, technology or history. Allow about an hour for a visit. Highly recommended! Free Admission, but leave a nice donation and sign the guest book.

Went several years back. Was interesting to view some history of communication. Before cell phones and airplanes people relied on the Trans Atlantic cables for communication with Europe. People use to have to maybe wait months to hear of news abroad with the construction of the cable it created and allowed faster communication with faraway places.

It's a gem of a museum. Their fantastic volunteers will explain the details of the cable and equipment and the complicated process of sending and decoding messages. We were invited to write our names in Morse code, which made for a fun souvenir. It's perfect for a rainy day or for anyone interested in telecommunications technology and history.

What a hidden gem! I can honestly say it was one of the most unexpectedly fascinating stops of my trip to the Cape. The museum offers a rare glimpse into the incredible history of transatlantic communication—something easily taken for granted today.

One of the best parts? My tour guide, Carlos! His knowledge and humor brought the history to life in such a fun and engaging way.

If you're anywhere near Orleans and have even a spark of curiosity about history, technology, or how the world became so connected, this little museum is a must-visit. You'll leave with a new appreciation for the cable that quite literally tied...

What a wonderful preservation of history. Free to the public, there are wonderfully knowledgeable volunteers that take you through the history and artifacts that are still set up as they were back in the 1800's. It is neat to see how communication evolved, as well as the science and materials behind the ideas. The stand alone building is an old home and takes about 45 minutes to an hour to go through. There is free parking...
