I was torn between 2 and 3 stars. My reasons are simple. The only reason I went with 3 was because the food is decent. Although imo the tacos using a corn tortilla is a poor choice, but I get why they chose it. The pork sandwich is decent, and my fiance loves the cappuccino. (Fyi, I think the cappuccino is around 6 oz.) I would give it 2 stars based on:
This is one of the only places to get great coffee/espresso drinks mid-Cape. Don't be fooled by other reviews, there are only a few credible offerings in the area if you care about how your coffee tastes (they use Counter Culture beans, which are very good). They also have great baked goods - breads, pastries, cookies, etc., and their sandwiches are especially good. I also noted that the staff were very friendly and efficient, the line moved at about the pace required for the barista to pull shots and make drinks on a really nice (La Marzocco) machine. I don’t even like lavender, but my friend had gotten it the day before and bragged so I demanded she take me there. It was no hard sell for her to drink one two days in a row!
They also have an assortment of non-dairy milk options such as oat and almond. I wish they would’ve continued this theme with the baked goods so I could’ve ordered something to go with my chai, but this is where they fell short. The only thing vegan or dairy-free were the energy balls—a really weird choice with your morning tea, that’s for an afternoon snack only.
Line is around the corner at 9am though. We were waiting forever and almost didn’t go in because the crowd was such a turnoff. If we had needed to sit down, we would never have patronized the place. They need more morning...
