Below is the review I left on yelp 7 years ago. After I got the watch back from Vintage Goldsmith Jewelers it worked for about 3 weeks before it died again. I didn't have time to question why and it went back in my night stand table for 7 years till now. I just took it in to have the battery replaced and was told that it is rusted inside and the O ring is missing. Not deteriorated, MISSING. Village Goldsmith Jewelers is the only ones that have touched the watch till now. After reading the below review it seems like I am not the only one with diver O ring troubles. How do you leave an O ring out doing a battery replacement? I don't know if it is under new management nor care but my sentimental watch is ruined after taking it here.
Yelp postVery rude and unprofessional. I dropped off two watches for batteries and one needed to be cleaned with a new band put on. After 1.5 days I contacted them to find out if they were ready. I was told the old divers watch needed to "dry out". I told the lady it has been sitting in a drawer for 15 years so I didn't understand why but ok. When I came back to pick it up it had a cheap simple band put on. I said I didn't want the band and would be back when the owner would be there to remove it. The second time I returned the owner confronted me about giving the girl a " hard time" and that I had an attitude. All this from me simply stating the watch had been sitting in a drawer. Then the owner said he put on the cheesy band because I didn't specify I wanted a diving band, even though the watch has a big rotating diving bezel and diving flag on the face and 200M printed on the bezel. If you are unsure of what band to use why not contact me and ask. In the three days they had the watch I was not contacted once to let me know anything. As far as local jewelers go I will...

Read moreBrought them my 80's vintage seiko diver in for service. Picked the watch up and was told it was good to go and was water tight for swimming and showering. Shortly after watch showed signs of moisture. Brought back so they could check it out. I was then told the watch needed a new crown, or it was my fault, or the watch was old and was no longer going to be water tight. Never once did they apologize or take ownership of their work done. Over Christmas I went to Tom Cook looking for a gift for my wife. I figured while I was there I would inquire about my "lost cause" watch. Their master watch maker went through my watch again and said it needed cleaning and new O rings O rings what do you think about that? He never mentioned anything about the crown, interesting. I have since been swimming and in the shower with no issues. Tom Cook also included a one year guarantee on their work. As far as other jewelry work I cant comment, but when it comes to vintage Seiko automatics I would...
