First time here and this young lady saw how confused we were and gave us a gist of what to do. She said to look at what pieces we want and when we are ready to stand by the paint wall so that she can explain the next steps. We stood there for MINUTES and saw that she looked at us but did not take action, instead she walked toward us but sat down on the table. So we guessed and did what we saw everyone else was doing. After 7pm, they turned off the music and we were the only ones. We thought they were closing, so we wanted to confirm if they were still open until 8pm. The young lady said “we close at 8pm so we won't be kicking you out until then.” The way she said it and her expression on her face, felt so rude and unwelcoming. During checkout, we said thank you and she didn't acknowledge, look at us, or respond back. It was the most awkward and horrible customer service experience ever. I will not be coming back to this place and will travel for a more fun pottery experience.

Lastly, it was time to pick up my pottery and my pottery had some sort of clay piece attached to it as if it touched a different pottery piece in the making.

Having often been a guest of summer art camps and paint days, my daughter requested her birthday party at Fire Escape. The new location is larger than the old and has multiple rooms to accommodate large parties. Instead of painting pottery, we chose to have each guest paint a wood letter of their name and add “mixed media” on top of the paint. The kids left the letters at the studio and a top shiny coat was applied later. Within a few days I got the call that the letters were complete and ready! They all turned out amazing and were great gifts to give each guest who attended the party. I had my daughter write her thank you cards and we delivered each art piece with the thank you.

The staff at Fire Escape were trained to run the birthday party and this allowed me to be pretty “hand’s off” which was a first! The location also has a selection of beer and malt beverages that we purchased for the parents that stayed during the party.

I would highly recommend the Fire Escape for a birthday party (young or old). The possibilies of what you can do there...

I was looking for something to cure my cabin fever this month and decided to check out Fire Escape. I loved it! I got there around 10:30 on a Saturday and they weren't that busy yet. I loved that they offered walk-ins because sometimes I don't like to plan in advance. The staff was super friendly, knowledgeable and fun. The selection of projects was mind blowing and they provide plenty of ideas and inspiration in their design center. I felt their prices were very reasonable and they didn't have any add-on or surpasses (what you see on the tag is what you pay). I never felt rushed and the staff was always willing to help without being pushy even after I was there for over three hours and they started to get busy, A+ for great customer service. They serve beer and wine and have other beverages for sale too which is really a nice touch. I can't wait to see what my fired finished product looks like. I am in my mid 30s and had as much fun as all the kids there appeared to be having :) I am for sure going to return to do some of their...

Truely the most family-friendly, patient, caring, and customer friendly business I've been to in years. The gentleness and judgment free vibe of the staff, as well as the studio environment itself, is such a breath of fresh air. They show compassion for beginners, respect, and understanding for all artistic levels, both young and mature. Everything they do, in my opinion, is to cultivate a positive and memorable experience for both project direction and imagination. All while allowing each individual the space for artistic discovery and growth. In a world filled with stress and digital connections everywhere, it is so refreshing to have a safe place to simply disconnect from the chaos and reconnect with what is truly important. Family and friends, and perhaps making new ones.

My kids LOVE going to the Fire Escape, and we make a point to go pretty often. We especially love the family atmosphere and how my kids feel right at home when we are there. I recommend them to everyone, because we know how much fun everyone will have. They are so accommodating with schedules (my kids did several of their summer art camps last summer), and I just appreciate them so much! We can't wait until we go back.

A wide supply of pottery pieces to paint. I never saw so many pieces to choose from in any other pottery painting place. There are a variety of neat classes. The person next to us was painting a board sign. Another person was painting on canvas. Second visit, and it was very busy. It worked out just fine. We were seated in one of the classrooms. It was very comfortable.
