If it were possible to leave more than 5 stars, I’d do it in a second for Jay and KC Wholasale Carpet. It goes without saying that individually owned companies give better customer service than any large home improvement retailer. But I’m going to say it anyway…KC Wholesale Carpet is the one and only place to consider when you need new carpeting. You won’t find a better group of gentlemen. When it comes to buying carpeting, there are obviously many choices in Kansas City. I spent quite a bit of time researching/driving from store to store to try to find the best deal. If there’s any information I can share with anyone in the market for new carpet, it would be this….please don’t waste your time looking at big name stores that don’t specialize specifically in carpet and flooring alone. I went to Lowe’s and Home Depot where I was ignored and blown off by salesmen who didn’t seem to care that I was there with carpet replacement questions and had money to spend. This left me disappointed but fortunately I didn’t give up. I came across KC Wholesale Carpet. These guys are top notch. I was immediately impressed. I was looking for a specific style and color of carpet that no other store was able to match. KC Wholesale Carpet is in a league far above Home Depot and Lowe’s. KC Wholesale Carpet is knowledgeable, professional, attentive, educated and helpful beyond anything I expected or experienced at any other carpet retailer. Not only did Jay come my house to do the measurements himself, after hours but at no additional charge, KC Wholesale Carpet was able to find a nearly perfect match to the carpet already existing in the rest of my house within days of my request. This was perfect for my situation as I was only needing to replace carpet in one room of my home but it needed to match what was already in the rest of my house. As if by magic, Jay and his crew stepped up to the plate did it. Once the order was placed, the carpet arrived in about a week. They scheduled removal of the old carpet and pad as well as installation of the new carpet with pad shortly thereafter. The gentleman who installed the carpet was able to treat the subfloor, remove the old carpet and padding and install the gorgeous new carpeting in less than 2 hours. I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. Every single encounter I had at this store was amazing. I made several trips into their Overland Park store and they remembered me & greeted me by name each time I walked in with more questions. I can’t say enough good things about my experience with KC Wholesale Carpet in Overland Park. They went out of their way to find what I needed and were somehow able to match my carpet which far exceeded my expectations. Thank you to each and everyone of you who helped me. Don’t waste your time going any place else for carpeting or flooring. I’d use them again...
Read moreI'll first say that we were very satisfied with many aspects of our carpet install. Brigid was great. The installers were courteous and did a great job with our home. The carpet is beautiful and at a good price. Unfortunately we had a bad experience with Chris that soured our overall experience. When we unplugged our four month old tv the night before the install it was working fine. When we plugged it in and turned it on the evening of the install (and after it had been moved in and out of our family room) there were lines across the picture so that we could no longer use it. I called and spoke to Chris, anticipating that he would be apologetic that something happened to our TV and offer to ask the installer if it had been bumped or potentially damaged during the install. Instead he was immediately dismissive and confrontational, saying we had no proof the TV was not working as a result of his crew moving it. It's true we have no proof but it's rather coincidental that only after it was moved it was no longer functional. Our warranty wouldn't cover it as Samsung told us this kind of issue only happens as a result of physical damage, so we had to buy a new tv. Again, we don't know that it was damaged during the install but Chris was confrontational and said they there was absolutely no way his guys did this before he even talked with them. I'm sure they are very careful but accidents can happen with anyone. Had Chris said, "I'm really sorry this happened to you, but unfortunately we can't be responsible for electronics..." this would have gone a long way. We're reasonable people. Instead he was dismissive, condescending, and argumentative without being at all empathetic. Chris: I hope the way you treated us over our tv was worth the recommendations we're no longer...
Read moreKC Wholesale Carpet is as good as it gets, a really fantastic place to do business - owned by a couple who really care about their customers, and the whole staff is really caring & helpful. They totally re-carpeted my former home about four years ago (when I planned to stay there forever) and were great to work with in helping me pick out carpet, installers were great, then near the end of the day, Chris (the husband-owner) showed up and offered to hook up all my computers - he said it wouldn't take him much time, but that it would probably take me forever. (He was right about that! What an incredible & unexpected relief to have it done!) Then, three years later, after I ran across the perfect lot and built a new home, they carpeted that and also made me a great custom area rug for the dining room. Again, great advice &...
